Buying ships, Box contents?

Hi,

I am looking at building an Imperial BFG fleet for fun. What I am looking at is to create a rather fluffy armada, but for this I need specific parts for my ships.
I noticed that there are many different prows, ornaments etc. for different ships.

What would I need to buy to get an eagle atop my battleship? The Retribution comes with a torpedo prow, and Emperor with an antennae one?

So, what are the contents of the Imperial battleship boxes?

Emperor Has the antenna prow and a reaper type bridge ornament. Retribution comes with the torp prow and eagle bridge ornament. Armageddon has the funky curved (voss) prow and a nova cannon, no bridge ornament. They all come with three weapon sprues which have two of each type of weapon. I think thats all the major differences.

As far as I remember andrew has that right, you certainly get a few nice spares out of it


On a similar note. does anyone remember what you get in the Chaos Cruiser box? I know you get 2 hulls, but how many weapons battery, launch bay, triple turrets, quad turrets and that 3rd type of slot cover (that you mount a single turret on...

Ooh... Its been awhile since i broke open a cruiser box but they come with two weapons sprues. They should have two of each weapon type on each sprue, so two launch two weapons two covers etc... Iirc they have two of each turret type also.

I bought 5 box sets of Chaos cruisers a few years back. I know I have all the bits in a dedicated bits box... somewhere.

What I thought I'd do was make 4 Cruisers, 2 Heavy Cruisers and convert the remaining into 2 Desolators and 2 Repulsive Grand Cruisers.

Total of:

2 Desolator
2 Repulsive
1 Styx
1 Acheron
2 Devastation
2 Carnage

I also have 6 Iconoclast Destroyers (so 5 of them can be added to that list). If I stick a 50pt warmaster in I belive that would be exactly 2500pts. Although maybe I do not have enough carrier support?

Thoughts?

2500 is an odd value to shoot for but i wouldnt say its lacking in attack craft. All in all this sounds like a feasable fleet and it gives you plenty of options at different point levels. Im very intersted in seeing these conversions too .

Well you may have to wait a while, I'm very lazy and have still got to finish my DE Fleet.

However, I have made 3 DE cruisers and 3 DE escorts so far, so I may paint them this weekend and chuck some pics up.
