cheers and keep wargaming the hobby...malc the manc.
The arrival of the Catholic forces seemed to undermine Horns confidence
in the Bamberg position. He positioned his newly raised Solms infantry in
the inadequate earthworks with cavalry screen out front with the majority
of his cavalry waiting on the left flank.Horn planned to let his new recruits
take the brunt of the attack while placing his more experienced forces on the
safer side of the river and sending his baggage and the majority to the rear.
Earthworks were not fully constructed and are classed as soft cover
Objective - For the Catholics to cross the bridge and capture the town
the Swedish force was to defend.

Just glanced through the photos- the painting looks very good. I will give the Report a proper read when I have more time.

THANK YOU for the Grimsby link....THAT is a GOOD one. I will be revisiting the site. I passed it on to a couple of longtime friends/opponents.

I did drool at the photos first by the by. We are on the edge of our first Pike and Shotte rules battle. We have been using the WECW rules (got them YEARS AGO).

The movement in the Pike and Shot rules we thought was a little bit silly, we decided to use the movement from the Father Tilly rules and also used the cards from the set as well...i can't see how pikemen can move so much like they do in the P&S ... that kind of made us all think have these rules been rushed, movement now is 6 inch plus a average dice per turn...otherwise the rules are very good buts that the beauty of P&S and Black Powder rules you can adjust them.
Overall Father Tilly rules are good for small battles but bad for large games like ours..Pike and Shot..with adjustments like we did...10 out of 10 top marks, ever want the sheet with adjustments pm me will send them to you.

Amazing stuff there. If it wasn't 4am in the morning and I wasn't that darned tired I'd have a look immediately but I definately will tomorrow! Always nice to see other people's TYW stuff.

edit: Right, I had a look now. Amazing stuff, I especially love the look of the cavalry. I've been to your blog before when I was looking for TYW flags for my armies. Great resources there. A few questions: Are you using the army lists from the P&S rulebook? How big was the table in total?

I'd be greatly interested in your adjustments to Pike&Shotte as well. I never actually read the Father Tilly rules but they seem to be very popular. Do you think that they would work with 10mm scale as well or do they use individual model removal or something like that?
