    Fantasy Release Order

For those who have not picked this up from hastings posts on various threads .....

This is the fantasy releases order for the next year. (Approx) :

Warriors of Chaos (Oct/Nov 2012) (Harry) (Nov 2012) (Hastings)
Daemons of Chaos (Late 2012/Early 2013?)
High Elves (Early 2013) (Harry) (Mar/Apr 2013) (Hastings)
    Lizardmen (Mid 2013?)

Thanks to hastings for the snippets.

Let me be the first to lament the plight of Wood Elves. Hopefully they'll be able to fix Teclis.

There are at least 2 more WFB releases to add to that list before WE get a look in

Sigh. Lizardmen? Where did that come from. Just as long as they never update wood elves and dwarves so i can never play with the 100s and 100s of pounds worth of minus ive bought over the last frw years.

I think folks should be able to guess at which other armies might be in the pipeline based on the rumours in the various threads.

    Re: Fantasy Release Order

dwarfs and dark elves seem like the most likely, I imagine they are try update the armies which have unbalanced or poor magic phases due to be designed for 7th ed

Depending on how good tge new Orion book is will determine my disappointment that it'll be a while before WE.

Look on the bright side, Dark Eldar were in that position two years ago and now look at them.

I'd have guessed Dark Elves after High Elves, but I'm not Hastings. So I'll go with Dark Elves after Lizardmen.

*sigh* I guess that means the Bretonnians will have to wait until 2014. Well, that gives me enough time to finish the models I haven't painted yet...

Bugger! Time to change the signature...

(Or get my WoC up to scratch, of course)

Surprising to see Dwarfs slipping down the list... Lizardmen also seems to be a bolt from the blue (or a poisoned dart from the trees, if you will )

Skaw's initial optimisim about Wood Elves being re-released in mid 2013 is slipping... Early 2014 ftw!

I like your optimism! I'm pretty excited to see what's in store for Wood Elves, whenever they get their book, as well as Dwarfs and Brets. I think Dwarfs, Brets, and WE are the armies that require the most overall work (in terms of revitalizing the model range, re-examining the playstyle and how it fits with today's Warhammer, etc.), and will probably be released on the fringe of this edition.

Hurray for Lizardmen! I just hope they get alot of new plastics (and not just a short update like Empire), since I was actually considering starting them.

It's been my opinion for a while that Bret's and woodies would be lucky to get an update before 2015. It's been my guess that 9th will drop mid 2014. After the 2013 army releases, we'll most likely get one army release in the first half of 2014, prolly dwarves, they like cramming them in before edition changes and then once 9th hits, the order resets all over again . The poster who mentioned dark eldar was probably spot on, Brets and woodies will get released when they're ready to re-do everything . 2015 maybe, 2016 would be my safe bet

Ah, so we get yet another VC book first?

It is... 'interesting' to see pretty much every book go into the second or even third round since I started whereas Dwarves, Bretonnia and Wood Elves apparently remain unchanged till the last day (21. December).

As had been stated many times there are multiple reason why these three armies are going to take a while to come out.....
I really wish ppl would stop bitching about it.

I'm sure the guys who play lots vs current DE and daemons or Teclis will be glad to see those books redone and loopholes/underpriced units removed. I know I'll be glad gto see the end of first turn 20 reroll 3++ Tzeench warrior shenanigans.

I feel for the players of 6th edition books. Hopefully they'll get a few models at some stage to keep them interested.
