    Re: mid-Sept. releases

@DoctorTom: I think the shrieker upgrade pack will probably include the cannon and the alternate rider with the big topknot and the open jacket. It's definitely one kit I will *not* be buying!

Good news on the Wraithguard front, but I think I'll hold out until we get the rumoured multipart plastic box.

The upgrade kit seems like it is just out there to keep it in production and availability until a proper plastic kit with those options comes out. See the Tau suit upgrade kits as well.

Why the heck are the Phoenix Lords $22.50? They're ancient, and surely use less material than an Autarch with all its options...

Liking the Storm Guardian upgrade pack. Liking it a lot.

That's in line with GW's policy of pricing things according to either A) the unit's force organization slot; B) the unit's point cost; or C) a combination of A and B.

Hmm, I was expecting the special edition starter to break the bank but that is reasonable... and that Chappy is so nice. Damn it GW, you have me this time. Well assuming the price-point is true of course.

Hopefully the Sternguard pack will include Combi-Flamers as they are distinctly lacking from the range

There was a leaked picture with at least some of the Blood Angel and Eldar finecast rereleases of the next WD, but perhaps they're not showing every model.

Don't they tend to show the conversion packs and such?

    I suspect...

The Sternguard Weapon Upgrade Pack does, in fact, includes combi flamers, in addition to combi melta and combi plasma. The strange part is that all the combi-weapon components are actually located on -top- of the bolter half of the weapon. The kit will also include a portable heavy bolter and heavy flamer made for power-armor equipped troops (think the underslung grip of the plastic scout heavy bolter, and the LotD heavy flamer) with an ammo box/fuel tank attached to the gun. Sadly, we don't get the cool hosing/ammo belt that loops around from the backpack to the gun.

7 pieces, 5 guns, two support arms for the heavy weapons.

    I suspect..

It makes too much sense. No way it could be this good.

Are the Melta and Plasma guns new sculpts or fail cast upgrades from the original no good fit metal bits?

Is this just speculation, or actual comment based on knowledge of the kit? It's hard to tell.

Just got my White Dwarf in:

    - The Dark Vengeance figure case has form fitting slots for the miniatures.
    - Sternguard veteran weapons have: heavy bolter with tripod, combi-flamer, combi-plasma, combi-melta, heavy flamer and a pair of lightning claws, all for power armour.

Is there any way you could post a photo of the carrying case?

Well that Sternguard upgrade pack looks really good, hard to see but i'm guessing it's £8. Nice.

    Re: mid-Sept. releases

Are these prices in US dollars or Euro's?
