Warhammer Quest Computer Game Announced

The origional board game was never rereleased because the origional artwork used to create the tiles was lost (destroyed) when they shifted warehouses in the uk. So, I'm glad to see it come out in some format that i can use. Hopefully, if it does well, we'll see it for more platforms, but they're going to release it where it will get the most exposure, whether we like it or not.

Agreed Mod, arguments about comparative efficiency of platforms is pretty annoying, though a thread on the morality of the Apple corporation in the off topic section would be quite interesting.

Go start that thread then! They don't make themselves.

Anywho, I'll pick it up if it gets positive reviews. And if my old operating system can run it.

Grab it for $0.99 at the App Store if you're at all curious about what the guys bringing us Warhammer Quest are about.

Great game. Just passed the 50-hour mark this weekend.

EDIT: It also appears that Hunters: Episode One HD (i.e. Hunters 1) is also on sale for one dollar.

Not a bad game by any stretch, but if you only get one of them, get Hunters 2.

As I said before, none that I've played have remotely impressed me. Frequently I am asked to try them out by friends who do own such unpleasant devices, and each time I find them poorly put together or woefully simplistic. I am not of the belief that it's a format suited to non 'casual' (for want of a better word) games. It's a precedent that would therefore make me doubtful this WHQ game is going to be worthwhile.

I actually agree that you tend to need well thought out, simple game mechanics to function well on iPads. That has nothing to do with the depth of strategy and how enjoyable a game can be. Ticket to ride has a great port for iPad for these reasons, and the gameplay is simple, but very strategic. Luckily, when you think through the mechanics of warhammer quest, they're actually incredibly simple if you automate all the bookkeeping. WHQ should be easy to port very well for a game on iPad.

Might have to buy it on my girlfriend's iPad as a 'gift'.

Well having got Hunters 2 and had a crack at that, I can see shy they got the gig. Of the WHQ game is nothing more ham a reskinned Hunters 2, I could cope

I saw mention that a version of the game would be playable at NEC in Europe last September 2012. Did anyone get a chance to see it there?

Nothing new to report that I'm aware of. Supposed to be a spring release, that's pretty well it.

I got really excited when I saw the ad for the sale 'cos I figured it was going to be coupled with an announcement from Rodeo detailing the Warhammer Quest release, but sadly no, no news yet.

It was featured in the latest WD with the general feel being that they still had a ways to go. Even taking into account the 3 month lead time on WD, I'm expecting it quite a bit later in the year.

Which WD is it, Dude? March, with the daemon stuff on the cover (assuming your Australian and my Canadian WDs are similar)? I'll pick it up if I pass by a hobby store.

The website still says 'Spring 2013.' I'm holding out hope that come March 20th it'll magically appear on the App Store, heh.
