Hi folks,
I'm hoping that someone on the forum can help clarify this:
Can the Watcher in the Water shoot its D6 tentacle attacks even when in base-to-base contact with another miniature?
According to the main rule book, a figure cannot shoot if engaged in combat via base-to-base contact. Period.
However, we're talking about a 200+ point model here and the Moria rules don't say that it can't shoot even though in base-to-base contact. For example there is no mention of a movement penalty when shooting, which implies that it can shoot even when in combat.
On one hand it sounds very powerful to allow the Watcher to make D6 shooting attacks and fight with 6 attacks every turn (potentially up to 12 attacker per turn).
On the other hand, this is a very expensive model and if being base-to-base combat prevents the Watcher from shooting, then it's too easy to beat. If the Watcher has no screening troops, I can engage it with one model and stop it shooting.
It's not in the Moria FAQ. How are others interpreting the Watcher's shooting attacks?
