    O&G wolf/chariot army

Is it feasible to play an army built around Goblin chariots and wolf riders? I'm not saying that I don't want to include Orcs, and I'm not saying that I don't want to include infantry. I just think that Goblin wolf riders and chariots are really cool (I don't know why, but that's the best word I can use to describe them).

Would such an army win as often as it loses? What if I said no squigs (I hate the idea/look of squigs)?

What would such an army look like at 1000pts? At 2000pts?

    So many questions!

    Thanks in advance!

The list is def doable. Mainly because it's what I'm dong at the moment.

I am taking a slightly different route however as I am not a fan of the wolf models. So I am taking chariots being pulled by spiders (I bought like 6 of the old starter sets so got a few spiders lying around).

But with the spider theme opens up the Aracnarock and giant spider models.

So my list plan is lv 4 shaman on Aracnarock , 4 lv 1 night goblins, 2 bosses n giant spiders, 2 blocks og 50 night goblins, 2 unit of 20 night goblin archers, 3-4 units of spider riders. 2X3 spider chariots bolt throwers and 2 pump wagons. Plus trolls if I can get them in 2500 Pts.

Whether this will win any games is debatable but spiders are hindered by much and can easily get into the flanks and rear sand with a full lore og gobs to play with will be fun, but in no way competitive. Just looks cool and is fun to play.

At lower points costs 1000 the chariots I think would preform better as you won't see many tank horde units.
And with 3d6 +3 impact his should def do the damage. And no need to worry about animosity. I also find pump wagons handy on the flanks with a possible 4 d6 movement and impact hits always good against scouts etc.

At 2k chariots are ok but likely to be shot magicd or beaten in combat with hordes but possible charges on 2 with m9 assuming enemy is 24" away only need 15" - 9" so 6 on 3d6.

That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I think it's about time for me to build a second army, and this was one of the routes I am considering. I would probably keep it between 1000-1500pts, so I'm glad it works best in smaller games. Thanks!

it would totally wok. I do the same thing with my TK and gobbo chariots are cheaper, faster, and dont need to be a unit of 6 for the str 5 hits.. are you capped at 3 max for a unit? When I run a big unit of TK chariots and go 4 or 5 wide while still hitting with str 5, I just wreck,,, you can hit a horde dead on with 6 chariots.. 6d6+6 str 5 impact hits just kills.. should average 20 wounds on impact hits alone..

Units of Goblin Chariots are prone to panic due to LD6 unless you keep them in your LD Bubble - kill one chariot and the other 2 will run if not near the general.
But I'd use them as a 150 pts of "size reducing punch" - throw them at a block, expect them to kill a good chunk with 3d6+3 impact and - initiative depending - many S4 spear attacks..

Or in combined charges, though at 2500 pts I find maneuvering is very limited on a 6x4 table. My OnG take the length of it at that point level haha. Sometimes I'm stuck placing a few units behind each other.

The deadliest potential of a unit of 3 goblin chariots though is with Sneaky Stabbin' spell if you manage a flank or rear charge, 3d6+3 AP S5 impact that reroll to wound? Ouch, ouch!

Also too bad you can't join characters on chariots to units of wolf chariots :[

I would build a Wolf Rider & Chariot army if the models weren't so terrible. Its the kind of fun list a Gobbo player should be doing. Who cares if it bounces off Tzeentch Chosen and runs away if an Elf looks at them funny?

I recall seeing a list and some photos of one somewhere recently (it also had some Boar Boyz for added punch) but have no idea where...

You can easily customize your own chariots.
A few planks can easily be made with popsicle sticks or just greenstuff or like what I ordered: bits of that huge tower kit, all wooden floors - cut 'em for chariot platform, add howdah bits maybe - then add in space wolves wolves to pull it and forest goblins to crew it :3

    Lots of possibilities.
