Scourge The Heretic & Innocence Proves Nothing

Currently rereading these books and remembering how enjoyable they are - though both have the occasional slight fluff mistake and moment.

I like that shows yet another aspect to the Inquisition, a new antagonist and while it does have a slightly convoluted plot, it seems to make sense.

Has there been a follow-up that I've missed or is one planned?

As far as I can tell, no, there won't be a third book. Which is a shame. It had that nice little nugget of humour now and again, but was still an enjoyable "Inquisitor" book.

Sandy wanted to do the third one, but with FFG holding the 40k RPG rights, he's unable to do so, as they don't want to do any novels, and BL won't do any tie-in stuff anymore (hence no Dow stuff despite further games being produced and no Space marine tie ins either)

Well.... it's a good thing there aren't any more DoW tie-ins. The first novel was terrible (straight adaptations almost always are), the two sequels were better but nothing to write home about. The DoW2 tie-in was just mind-boggling, although it was a much easier read than the first one.

Boo! I need a third book! It had so much potential as a series, and I really want to know what happens next.

and the DOW "books" were terrible. Don't want any more of those. I blame them for no more DH books!

I asked Sandy about this at BLL11: he said he 'had the third book in here' and tapped his head, but that he already had plenty of things on his schedule and wasn't yet planning to actually write it, which was a bit of a shame, but he was rather upbeat about his Cain work and such, so perhaps it's, for him, merely a matter of priorities.

Frankly, I agree with Sheena: the DH tie-in novels were surprisingly decent. Low-key for Inquisition books, but fun and engaging and well realised for the adventures they were having. A third (or more) book would be extremely welcome.

Gotta agree - would love to see a third book that ties into the Calixis Sector and Dark Heresy - real shame.

Does anyone know if the books are set before or after the current timeline detailed in the games?

I do hope this book comes about, an unfinished series is a truly sad thing and it'd be a damn shame to never find out the answer to the mystery of the Faxlignae. Plus Drake and Kyrlock rule!!

And the first novel had Enslavers... we need more Enslavers in BL!

That's really bad news there's going to be no third book given the second ends on such a cliff hangar, I mistakenly thought they were a duology as I couldn't find anything on a third book and now wish I'd never read them as it's frustrating to never know what happens.

I could of swore that a third was coming, the gap between the first and second was like two years, damn has it been two years?...... I too love this underspoken and under appreciated Inquisitor romp, with out the inquisitor, lol. This might be the most realistic and normal look ever of 40k. Enslavers and rouge traders oh my,,,.....!!!!!!
