FUMBBL - Blood Bowl on your PC!

Yes, I realise that this has been posted many times before, but no-one seems to actually respond. FUMBBL is an online Blood Bowl league open for everyone who wants to join in. As there is no set schedule, you can play whenever you have the time to do so.

There's not much to set up:
1. Register on FUMBBL
2. Download the Blood Bowl rules (6.2MB) from the Specialist Games website.
3. Download and install Java if you don't have it already.
4. Download and unzip BBOnline 8.6]
5. Get Mozilla FireFox if you're not already using it (not necessary but FireFox is great)
6. Get an IRC extension if you don't already have one (I recommend Chatzilla).
7. Read the FUMBBL User Guide, create a team and start playing!
7a. To join the WBBL (WarSeer Blood Bowl League), you must create a new Unranked team of one of the 'standard' races and PM me or Iscariot on FUMBBL. This team should be used only for games against other WBBL teams and should have FF 5 or more.

EDIT: Okay, so there's quite a lot to set up, but it's well worth it.

By the way, technically you must own the Blood Bowl boxed set to use BBOnline. I certainly do, and of course I would never encourage anyone, even my fellow WarSeers, to evade GW copyright laws...

The WarSeer Blood Bowl League!

Blood Bowl-related PMs should be sent via FUMBBL, not WarSeer. League information and news will be posted on the league page. Ideas and submissions that affect the whole league should be posted in this thread.

For WarSeer discussion in the IRC chat, use the channel #warseer. This can be accessed by pressing Ctrl+J when in the chat, typing 'warseer' and hitting Enter.

Actually, legally, to play, you need to own the LRB. Since that's conveniently available for free on the Specialist website...

I have recently been investigating JavaBloodBowl and FUMBBL to try and re-create the leagues of my youth given that my teams need revamping and I live 200 miles away from everybody else. However given that I haven't got that going yet would anyone be up for a Warseer league. IIRC there was one tried before but I didn't have regular internet access. Anyone up for it?

Yeah the previous Warseer group fell a little flat on its face. If a league were to go ahead, I'd like people to play a few games first just to show some commitment. Since if anyone leaves a league, it spoils everything.

However, it would be a brilliant idea, and I hope it gathers support. Playing people you have some connection with is much more interesting than playing randomers.

That's the problem with online campaigns, it's easy to say yes and not be worried that the league commisioner will come round your house and shout at you for not playing your games. I'm willing to play some one off games - anyone want a match on Thursday (Hopefully). I haven't created or played through FUMBBL yet so I would like to give it a go.

Yeah, for now I'd like to just paly one-off games and try to get more WarSeers to join. If we get eight or so, a tournament would be pretty good.

I'm up for this. 1-off games are definately a better idea, at least to start with, especially as we are probably all in different time zones.

Mind you, it's sad when the teams included with the client are incorrectly calculated.
