    1750 Imperial Guard Mechanized Infantry (13 chimeras)

    40K Army: Imperial Guard
    I wanted to run a list with as many chimeras as possible while still remaining effective(ish). While this is more of a fun list and less of a tourny list I wanted to stick with the mechanized infantry theme. I really only plan on playing this in friendly games anyways. Pretty much the army will be split into 2 divisions, the Fire Support teams will of course be providing fire support and the Assault teams will be distracting, annoying, and hopefully kill some stuff as they die horribly. The Fire Support teams will move up and deposit their contents into cover then stand by providing additional fire power. My tactics will be to over whelm them with targets and of course I know Purge the Alien will be a problem... So what do you think?

    P.S.: At 2500 points it goes up to 19 chimeras!

    It looks a pain the **** to kill.

    But looks like it lacks a punch itself.

    I think I would:
    1) upgrade all grenade launchers & flamers to melta guns (or designate one "forward" platoon with melta or melta & autocannon, and a "back" platoon wih just autocannons)
    2) get everything you can krak grenades
    3) change all the chimera HB to HF (the HB are just a garnish to the ML & AC you have at long rangfe, the HF will kill infantry better with your mobility)
    4) get a couple of commissars to have the option of 'blobbing up' in KP missions (I don't think this is a "number one" priority)

    If you drop one squad you can upgrade all the others to melta guns and krack grenades which gives you a bit more damage potential while keeping all of the "theme" you're after.

    Does 13 Chimeras not generate movement and line of sight blocking problems ?

    Ooh, Al'Rahem, nice! I have never seen this guy, but have always thought an entire outflanking platoon could cause all kinds of trouble ^^
    Now, I'd think about dropping all those heavy stubbers. That's 10 pts for 3 s4 snap shots, not sure if that's worth it...

    The one's with the stubbers will generally stay still unless they are taking forward positions first turn. But I think 3 additional str 4 shots for 7 chimeras is worth what they could otherwise buy. 9 shots from a chimera is actually kind of scary, at least in this quantity.

    Would love to do an army like this but cost of chimeras puts me off
    Does alrahem convey his outflankin to the transports? If so then wow thats gonna hurt...

    Yep, everything in his platoon can outflank, or to be more precise, has to outflank.
