Kitbashing Blood Knights

I want some of these bad boys for my army but I don't want to buy the official ones as I'm sick of finecast and I'm not particularly fond of the models themselves. Same goes for the Gamezone equivalents, although in this instance, its because I don't want any heavy, metal models.

Plastic wise, there are the Chaos Knights, Dragon Princes and Bretonnian Knights. Chaos Knights would involve a lot of filling-off iconography and having seen my mates ones, would be annoying to rank up. Dragon Princes are a bit too small and I play against HE's regularly. Finally, I'd rather go for Empire themed knights rather than Bretonnian ones.

I've therefore come up with a few alternate ideas. Horse wise, I could get some of the marauder horses, as they're quite bulky looking, and green stuff some barding on. Or I could get some bretonnian horses and give them Dragon Prince steed heads. For riders, I'm thinkng maybe a mix of Empire Knight/Demigryph riders, Dragon Princes and Cold One Knights and spruce them up with grave guard bits. I'd quite like to give them sallet helmets as well, like the Zombie Dragon rider and I think the cold one lances look particularly elegant yet vicious.

True. How do the Soul Reaver knights compare to GW stuff? Are they about the right size?

I was thinking of a more complicated kitbash, rather than using something like Dragon Princes and then giving them a head and weapon swap or just a different paint job. I want something a bit more bespoke and unique looking so that when you look at it, it doesn't scream Dragon Princes/Chaos Knights. (Which is kind of what I tried to say in the opening post )
