I'm building a force of Sons of Horus in anticipation of the FW Horus Heresy book, but looking at pictures of them online, the green of their armour looks very hard to achieve and very easy to screw up if you don't know what you're doing.
Does anyone have a good recipe for painting them using the GW or Vallejo Game Colour ranges, or have links to good tutorials?

going from this image i'd base cost them a mix of ulthuan grey 25/75 straken green, wash them with a dark green wash in the recesses to add shading then highlight by adding more grey progressively, all the way to a pure grey. Then i'd re-apply the wash to tint the grey green. Kind of like how Wiltrich does imperial fists...

I'm currently experimenting with kabalite green, sybarite green and hellion green, highlighting up and using an airbrush to blend. I'm fairly happy with the colour... but until FW elaborate on an 'official' scheme it'll be a matter of experimenting until you find the tone you are happy with. There's a few Sons of Horus logs on here... and it seems everyone has a slightly different take. They all look pretty good, and do the job really well, so I guess its down to preference.

I experimented with the thought of turning my Chaos army from Black Legion to Sons of Horus... I did Ceramite white with Waywatcher Green. It left with a slightly mottled look, and then I did the black trim.
