Re: What are you doing with the Errata & FAQ of GW

GW doesn't update their FAQ/Errata that frequently though. If they made a 'sticker-product' (sold for the BRB, and each individual army-book) in an ultra-thin transparent adhesive material, that would become almost 'seamless' on the margins of the relevant pages - then I would definately concider using that depending on what the price would be.

Of course, this all falls together when concidering that it's actually the IoB-rulebook that is kept on hand at the gaming table - but would still be nice to have to in the Big one.

Everyone and their mother has a tablet, phone, or computer nearby, and it's easy to print out the sections of Errata that you need - it's just sometimes things are so minute it's kinda hard to remember 'to look' for the Errata-amendment. This would be allieviated a bit with stickers I suppose.
Not sure if it would be of enough use to be a worthwhile investment though.. Probably not.

I have a brief case where I keep all my game related papers D&D, Warhammer and 40k ,So that is where I keep the faqs and erratas.

I used to use a temporary adhesive tape "mouse" that used the same glue that's on the back of Post-It notes. That way any added errata could be removed easily if need be.

In 5th, I carried all of the 40K FAQs around in a folder*, but now I only carry the BRB, Necrons, dark Eldar, Sisters, Marines and Grey Knights since that's all I could be bothered printing out again when they updated.

Re: What are you doing with the Errata & FAQ of GW

I read many responses, where they wanted to keep their books clean. So,I was thinking, why?

When the next eddition is coming out, I'll be throwing out mine immediately.
No reasons for keeping it on the shelff, collecting dust for many years and throw it away 10 years later.
The same with Army books, what use do the old ones have, when the new one is out.

    Fluff wise? Maybe.
To sell as collectors Item later....too whom. And if you can sell it, then it is a good thing, I throwed away mine then, so there aren't many around.

I don't have a big rule book of 50 euro...only the IoB rule book, but the principle stays the same.

The stickers... too much money for just stickers. 15 euro for 40 minutes of cutting paper myself.

I noticed with two High Elves Army books of this edition, that 1 book needed a lot of Errata updates and the other only half of it.
So GW does print new batches of Army books with updated text. That is good to know, right?

Thanks for all of your replies to the original post. Well appreciated.

Really, I don't know why they charge for the army books at all. It should all be free from their website, or in the damned BRB in the first place.

But as for pasting things in, I've had no need to fix what I put in since I did so. I would, to be clear, wait quite a while when a new edition comes out for the FAQ to settle. But they're game books, and I want my game rules beside my actual rules where I reference them.

My roomie refuses to do so in his book, because he doesn't want to mar the art in his Wood Elf book, where all the pages are falling out... but that's his right, his book, and his business. To each their own. There's no right way.
I reserve the right to change my opinion the moment I am proven wrong; that's called learning.

I save the files to Dropbox. I can grab that from phone, iPad and laptop.

I highlight any sections of the rulebook that has been covered by FAQ or errata.
