Thanks, yeah looks like a lot of people are gearing up to do DA's about time they had a proper release can't wait, yeah the gun was done with mechrite red, washed with nuln oil then a layer of mechrite and blood red mixed then around the edges with blood red, i'll do a detailed bit by bit paint soon

Quite the collection there...and it loooks like a good start on this force...
I like how the new models grant a lot more details on your marines...gives the chance to make up a nice force...
Its cool what you did with the leftover models you had..I will be looking into this as you get along...

yeah i agree, i love having marines that are very clearly detailed as a certain chapter, bit boring when you just paint the same marines different colours for different chapters (though i do have ultramarines which are just that?)

So thought i'd just do some replies and a little update, i finished my 3rd sergeant conversion, i do like him but going to be a pain fitting in a case with both his arms so out stretched, ah well xD



I've also started painting sammael, one of my favourite models gw do, not done much, I've pretty much finished his robes, still need to stick the cloak on when i've painted the black armour, as you can see he's kind of scrappy looking at the mo but trust me he'll look awesome :P



so yeah thats where im at, will hopefully get some more stuff done and some more pics up later

Been working on Sammael, he's not to far off finished now, need to do a bit more work on some of the metal, the book and the green rim on the cloak, his face is done, i think i'm pretty much done on the cloth, pretty pleased with how he's turning out, i need to work out what colour the scabbard should be anyway hope you like, i tried to take some pics from a few angles and a close up of the face

will probably finish him tomorrow, then i may finish off some more of the bikers, or some normal dudes, see how i feel...

anyway enjoy the pictures, please leave me some criticism/comments

he looks good, maybe some spot colours would help as he's a bit dull looking atm. add some green, gold and maybe a warm spot colour for the livery etc I totally agree that it's an awesome model, I have two of them lying around because they rock XD

Thanks, he is a bit brighter now, i've done some gold and the red and white on the shoulder pads now, hopefully looks a bit brighter and breaks up the black a little, pretty much all but the book done, mainly cause i'm lazy xD, pics to follow

So I've been doing a little bit of painting, not done a huge amount but finished another DV marine, Sammael is like 99% done, and started on one of the sergeants too so thought i'd post some pics, i am thinking of changing the basing style from a moonscape to standard battlefield, opinions?
