Mutant Superpowers (X-men or Brotherhood of Mutants)

I was recently dicussing with my friends the possibility of inheriting superpowers from your genes (a mutant just like the X-men). But in the comics, the human race is quick to turn on mutants, rather than welcome them. So, if you inherited superpowers (becoming a mutant) in a mutant hating world, what would your powers be, and what side would you choose (X-men= good, Brotherhood of Mutants= evil)? You can only choose one power!!

Personally, I would have to choose Telekenisis and the Brotherhood of Mutants, sorry humans

Not sure if this is in the right place, sorry if not

Assuming we aren't allowing silly powers like Peter or Sylar from Heroes

I would go with Telekinesis and the X-men.

As Sylar has thought us, Telekinesis is just such a useful all-round power.

And X-men, because even though I like playing the bad guys in fantasy, in a real situation I would side with the good guys.

Russ: Yeah, I know! Magnus is a traitor! To think that he could accuse our beloved brother Horus of turning against us. Impossible! But don't worry. I have taken care of it, Horus asked me to destroyed Prospero and I have. Magnus shouldn't be bothering us again.
Lion: ... actually, I was going to say that Magnus was right. Horus has turned to Chaos, 7 other Legions have joined him and he has destroyed 3 Loyal Legions already!

How would you take your loot with you when you teleport out? Does it teleport with you because you are holding it? That being the case, wouldn't the ground teleport with you?

I think we'll say you can take the loot, as Nightcrawler can take people and stuff with him, (X-men 2 he teleports storm with him)

What other power could you want but mind control? And peaceful coexistence would be hard but every effort would need to be made.

Possibly coincidentally I do have a son I named Xavier.

Re: Mutant Superpowers (X-men or Brotherhood of Mutants)

Mind control scares the hell out of me, only slightly less so if I'm the one doing it.

My power? Hmm... a healing factor would certainly not come amiss, but would lead to being experimented on by the forces of evil, a la Wolverine. I'll go with Colossus's ability to turn himself nigh-invulnerable.

And yes, I'd be on the side of humanity as a whole. X-Men, not the Brotherhood.

    Chronomancy.

Yes, I just slept with Marilyn Monroe, ate breakfast with Pusillanimous, and seduced Evita in the same time it took you to brush your teeth .

Oh, and X-Men all the way!

Well I would side with x-men, and the powers would be a toss up between super speed or telekinesis

The Grand Unifying Power of Everything. A mutant power that lets you control the underlying fabric of the universe has all sorts of uses...

Otherwise: Supergenius. With this power I can invent immortality, fast regeneration, telekinesis etc. The first two are within our grasp NOW through science, the last is a matter of developing a neurally controlled anti grav field. Mind control is simply using concentrated electrical signals to interfer with the target's brain and implant specific commands.

Isn't that just a limited form of Telekinesis?

Is that with or without the mutant power of being suspiciously attractive to the opposite sex?

That's cheating. Plus you know any mutant with this sort of power gets involved in some form of deus ex machina intervention as the writers can't deal with this sort of thing normally. Not going to end well for you.

This thread would be a lot more fun I think if everyone had to list a mutant weakness/personality flaw to go with their superpower of choice.

The power to generate and control electricity, as most things require electricity to work this could be quite interesting.
With that in mind i'll join the Brotherhood, they'll let me use my powers to the full

Agreed, my weakness is a split personality, whereby only one of them has the ability to use the power but they both want to be dominant.

I'll have Jean Grey's powers from the last X-men movie and I'll be Neutral as I don't agree with either group.

I'd use my powers for what in my opinion is good

I'd like the ability to be absurdly lucky, like Longshot or Domino. Luck beats skill every time, as all warhammer players should know.

I'd be "evil." Evolve, don't hang on to inferior genes. We would owe it to humanity to force it to become better.
