    How many ICs can join a unit?

    How many characters can join a unit? I cannot seem to find it clearly in the rule book.

    I was also discussing this with someone at a GW and they were definite that there was only allowed to be 1 IC per unit. This sounded strange to me because I am sure I have seen Assault Marine units with a Chaplain and Captain running around.

    Yes. This is indirectly confirmed later in the book on the battleforce recon mission sidebar, where they instruct you to have a smaller army where all the models are independent characters, but in general there is no limit.

    Also, there's somewhere in the rules where it says that you can construct entire units composed of just independent characters, which would be pretty tough if you could only have one IC per squad.

    So any number can join a unit? Excellent. I am drawing up an Crimson Fists Space Marine Company for an Apoc army that has (counts as) Lysander and Command squad running around with a Chaplain in a Land Raider.

    The rules for joining units is in the IC box on page 39 of the main rules. There's nothing there limiting you to one IC per unit - indeed that would make the comment about ICs joining each other a bit strange.

    Yes, for Apoc you could spend all the points purely on buying Space Marine Captains and turn them all into one chorus line of a unit if you wished. Not as fun as buying one unit of Warlocks, then load up with Farseers to make one huge chorus unit of psychic nastiness (not tactically sound, but fun )

    I have a Culexus Assassin that would love to meet that Farseer group. Of course with Apocalypse I would sneak in a Daemon Prince with Lash to ensure that my Culexus' mega animus speculum was something like assault 87 or how ever many psykers you could surround him with plus two.
    Wear a monocle and Bob Schieffer will laugh at you on the evening news.

    Hurricanes are not the best way to keep crime down, Mr. Bloomberg.

    My deathstar horror story was an Ard Boyz game and there was Logan Grimnar, Arjal, Ragnar all in one unit of wolf guard. Urgh! One unit to stay the hell away from...
