Hi guys,Fantasy Army: O&G
I'm thinking of running a double - Lv4 list with my Orcs & Goblins against Vampire Counts. Any comments gratefully received. All I know for sure is that my opponent will have a Terrorgheist, some Grave Guard, and a Mortis Engine.
Lords
Savage Orc Warboss, Great Weapon (Goes with Savage Orcs)
Orc Great Shaman, Lv4, Talisman of Preservation (Not sure where to put him)
Night Goblin Great Shaman, Lv4, Dispel Scroll (Either alone or with the Night Goblins)
Heroes
Savage Orc Shaman, Lucky Shrunken Head (Goes with Savage Orcs)
Night Goblin BSB, Armour of Silvered Steel (Goes with Night Goblins)
Night Goblin Big Boss, Light Armour, Enchanted Shield, Tormentor Sword, Crown of Command (Goes with Night Goblins)
Orc Big Boss, Boar, Warrior Bane, Light Armour, Shield (Goes with Boar Boyz)
Core
30 Savage Orc Big 'Uns, Full Command, Extra Hand Weapons, Standard of Discipline.
50 Night Goblin Spearmen, Full Command, 3 Fanatics
Special
40 Black Orcs, Full Command
5 Boar Boyz, Spears, Shields
2 x Spear Chukkas
Rare
Doom Diver
Rock Lobba
Battle Plan
The Spear Chukkas are there to target the Terrorgheist / Mortis Engine, with the Doom Diver to snipe Characters. The Boar Boyz are there to be a Hard Counter to Dire Wolves and Fell Bats, and the Rock Lobba is there to thin down the inevitable Massed Ranks of Skeletons. Hopefully, the Black Orcs and Savage Orcs will be able to chew through enemies fairly well. The Night Goblins are pretty vulnerable, but if they look like getting into combat, Gift of the Spider God and Night Shroud, along with their Fanatics, should help them through the worst of it.
Alternatives
As an alternative, I was considering dropping the Boar Boyz and Big Boss in order to take some Squig Hoppers with a Great Cave Squig, and a small unit of Wolf Riders.
