I quite like it but I would lose the horns and feet.

Damn, not liking it so much. I have the Beasts one and it is great.

This was the model I wanted most!! I voted for it in that other thread. Its crazy and I want to see it painted but it just doesnt match the artwork (which is brilliant) the way I wanted

I was really disappointed by this; the feet are incredibly chunky and it's just… weird looking. I'd have preferred something with more cracked looking volcanic rock-like skin and clawed feet perhaps.

Looks like the BFG went a bit native like his fellow giants.
A boy played in the sandbox with no one to mind him,
When quietly a mixing truck pulled up behind him.
He peeped not a peep, cried out nary a cry —
Just his sandals stuck out when the concrete was dry.

I agree with a lot of people here. Though great, I think the model doesn't in the warhammer imagery at all. I like what FW is trying to achieve, but sometimes I find their sculpts to be too detailed and too realistic. The elemental of beasts is for me definitely too close to reality sculpt-wise (apart from the head of course) and doesn't fit in the warhammer fantasy world as we know it.
having said that, I think its body could be use as a good base as a conversion for a giant or ghorgon/cygor. Even maybe it's be possible to make a gryphon with it since it has almost everything except for a tail, wings and a proper bird head.
Visit and rate my fantasy log : A lot of green against a feeble mind
    Models painted 2011= 45 / 2012 = 62 / 2013 = 7

This is the reason I think they should let the EM team paint a few model releases.

This has me stoked for the water elemental--which will likely find its way into my Marienburg army.

You might be waiting a while since there are only elementals of fire, beasts and death in the first volume of Monstrous Arcarnum. The Merwyrm might be a thematic alternative that is more likely to get a model since it is in the book (and features heavily in the book fluff text as well, and I think all the other models from the book fluff have turned up now except maybe whatever the sea trolls are?).

Sea trolls are to be introduced in the next FW book apparently (the Battle for BlackFire Pass one). Is there any lore that could be represented by an incarnate elemental of water?

They are only doing 8 Elements, one for each Warhammer magic lore on the basic table as far as I remember.

    So far we have:

Lore of Beasts - Incarante Element of Beasts
Lore of Fire - Incarante Element of Fire
Lore of Death - next Incarnate Element to be release since its in the current Montrous Arcanum

The rest are to be release at a later date with any hope in further Montrous Arcanum books:

    Lore of Light
    Lore of Life
    Lore of Heavens
    Lore of Metal
    Lore of Shadow

No water element, in the way in which you wish...

As for everyone nit-picking about the large foot, it looks nothing like that in real life, photo does it no justice at all. Although not the same as I had hoped as the artwork, it still is a wonderful model.

Life could use water, Heavens could use air / wind

If they wanted to make element monsters I'm sure they could have done, point of this project is to make a monster that defines the lore. Considering the artwork for death is a giant snake dragon in the figure of a sand timer/infinity symbol, instead of using a Grim Reaper. I say they're thinking outside of the box.

Highly doubt they would make a water looking monster for life then stamp the life arcane rune on it.

But if you want to find substitute for the four natural elements, then the Rock Idol is a great one for earth...

I could imagine an elemental of shadows, if painted blue, would look somewhat waterlike.

Yeah it does look as if they are putting some thought beyond the obvious but if they were to do a water one I think life would be the best choice and for wind use heavens, for earth probably use light or metals (if you don't count the Orc Idol as an Earth Elemental which it could represent). I was a bit rushed in my earlier reply.

It could, but it would also depend on how it was modelled. You could do the same with the Fire one as well (after remodelling the arcane rune of course).
