    Bran Redmaw Question

    Hello,

Before I say anything, I want to ensure everyone that I do own this imperial armour book.

My question is Bran Redmaw, who is a unique character for Space Wolves. He enrages and becomes a ware wolf sort of speak. His wargear seems pretty good, but Im confused on when he transforms. He has the new profile under the "Redmaw", and it says when he does transform he comes into play with only the wargear and special rules detailed, and replaces Bran Redmaw. It states under Redmaw his save is "-". My question for those who know of this entry is does this mean he loses his 2+/4++ save? Or does he keep all of the wargear just has the new stat profile.

    Thanks

The wulfen form completely replaces the previous one. So yes, you lose his previous wargear- and the earlier forms 2+/4++.

Ewww. I was considering using him, but having nothing but a 5+ save from feel no pain doesn't seem to be worth it. Also his attacks have no AP value either. Damn what a shame.

    Thanks Red Pilgrim.

    Happy to help.

That being said, he is still pretty good. Stick him in a full squad of fenrisian-wolves, have them outflank, and stick to cover- taking advantage of him granting stealth to the wolves. You then can use the cover save as your save, and the wolves as extra wounds.

His stat line is pretty good, but I can see him dropping to anything that is Str 6 or greater. I almost like him better before he transforms. a Str 5 PW that rerolls to wound, 2/4 save. The save being the real big thing. If he was actually considered a monstrous creature, I think then I would try him out. I actually don't understand why he is not classified as one considering he transforms. At least then all of his attacks would be AP2.

Oh wait, nevermind. I just found an FAQ for that book, released Feb 12th 2012, that adds MC to his rules! Ok, I think I will be trying this guy out. In 6th ed, he gains smash, AP2 attacks, and fear.
