Thread: 1500 bike marine army.

    1500 bike marine army.

    40K Army: Space Marines
    trying to figure out a new army I can do with the new dark vengeance set on the cheap and I got something I wanted to do. Then it hit me. No one really wants their ravenwing. Here is what I wrote up. Tell me what yall think.

    HQ

    Captain-Lightning claws, storm shield, bike

    bike command squad-4 plasma guns

    troops

    4 bikers-2 plasma guns, sarge with combi melta melta bombs,+multimelta attack bike

    4 bikers-2 plasma guns, sarge with combi melta melta bombs,+multimelta attack bike

    4 bikers-2 plasma guns, sarge with combi melta melta bombs,+multimelta attack bike

    4 bikers-2 plasma guns, sarge with combi melta melta bombs,+multimelta attack bike


    The squads all have 5 bikes with attack bike so they count as troops and the command squad is plasma death. each squad can do some work as AT at range and melee as well as put the hurt on people with tons of plasma guns. Plasma death command squad is nasty because they run around plasma gunning people and they are tough vs gets hot cause of feel no pain. They also baby sit the captain and can even assault thanks to relentless bikers. T5, jink, and FnP is a powerful tool to survive. The plasma death squad also serves as a fire magnet. They hit hard and fast and draw more fire than my troops should. with extra bits and some fun conversions, 30 bikes will cost 150$ if I can get them. Tell me what yall think.

    You have the same problem as ravenwing. No real effective AA. Unless like me no one has been bitten by the flyer bug in your area yet.
    Sure t5 fnp and Jink can save lives but you can still got down to massed firepower. You might have a weakness against melee meq. If they can weather your plasma for a bit to get charges you will mostly be Bouncing of power army with no ap3 etc

    Not sure how to say this but have you thought about a Master of the Forge on Bike with conversion beamer? Will add some longer range punch to your list.

    Other options are techmarines on bikes with servo harness for a 2+ save and extras

    I don't think you need to be so cut and paste. It's actually lowering your effectiveness.

    I would make 2 x squads with 2x plasma & Heavy Bolter. 2 squads with just plasma including the sergeant and then take a 3x MM attack bikes as a FA squad. I would also try to fit in 3 x HB attack bikes to help with big low AV units.

    Check your points. You are about 210 points under 1500. Therefore you should have another troop bike squad. One suggestion would be to give your captain a power fist and have some melta guns in the command squad. This should give you a lot more flexibility. I would also consider combi-flamers. This will take care of your anti horde needs.

    You're screwed in a objective based game with any buildings, opponent just needs to place his objectives on the second level and you can't ride up to claim them.

    With that fire power you shouldnt need to get objrctives in buildings. as a shooting biker army
    You should be able to place yourself in a position where you can benefit.
    But i agree that you should drop 2 plasma squads and make them meltas and for the rest either
    Either a flamer biker squad with hb ab or even a couple of mm ab.

    As long as you can be under an objective one level you can still claim it. Only have to be 3 inches any direction

    Still all the pros and cons... i really dislike such a list.....
    this isnt about playing a fun (competative) game this is about lets see how many plasma's and bikes i can fit into XXX points.

    Do you actually think there is any fun in playing this list? (no not retorical, yes im dead serious)

    I think fun is relative to the creator of the army, if he likes it then its fun. As for the list id second the PF and in addition tool the command squad for CQC, im not really sold on teh cmd squad as shooters since you have that in spades but your really missing a hammer unit. Also I think your lacking in a dedicated firebase. For a little variety id drop a bike unit and with those pts (plus the extra you have) put a couple storm talons in. Other suggestions would be some missile dev units and a podded tac squad.
