    +1 coversave for facing?

I couldn't find this question on here, so I hope it's alright with you guys f I ask this question here. I also hope not finding this question means I'm not the only dummy with this question.

But you guys know the Ravager and Raider from the Dark Eldar right? Well, I placed them behind big rocks (area terrain), claiming a 4+ (which we agreed on ofcourse) from the terrein due to being 25%+ obscured. I also tried to place the Ravager so the 'side' was to my opponent and the 'front' was the only thing he could see for an additional +1 on my coversave as per the rules of the rulebook. That's where the discussion started. Whát is the side of a Ravager and where does the 'front' begin?

The example with the tank in the rulebook is easy (it's easy to draw imaginary lines from corner to corner). Where are the Ravager's corners?

I didn't know how to solve it, so I conceded and agreed with only a 4+. I'm curious as to how you guys solved this issue?

    Thnx in advance for answering.
When old kabel, cult & coven are replaced by new models I'll post the new names and results here. These models and new codex deserves to start fresh.

I'd say the front of the ravager is the triangular prow, up until the point it curves inward to form the sides. It's a bit hard to say though, since eldar tanks are more organic, with less defined angles than their imperial counterpart...

The underside sort of has four 'corners' where it changes from tapering out to going back in again. I would draw the lines through these to get the front, sides and rear.

I've attached a (unfortunately somewhat poor) sketch to show this.

    I agree with this drawing.

Yeah, that's essentially what I meant, too. In other news, MS Paint ftw ^^

Best house rule I've ever heard, and what I use is this:
Draw a rectangle that fits around the tank dimensions.
Use the corners of the imaginary rectangle.

The drawing is close enough; this is sort of the go to. When in doubt, draw a line from (say for example) 1" in of each facing and see which is closer. This biases no side and helps you conform to the RAW of which side is closer (IIRC that's what it is anyway. I'm hard at work!)

    Thnx for replying guys!

I concur with the drawing. It seems the most reasonable and fair. I'll consult it with my regular opponents. I hope they see te sense in this too.
