40k Equivelant of WHFB Spearhead??

Hey,

I haven't been involved in 40k for a long time but I was going through my old Warhammer FB stuff the other day while having a clear out and noticed I still had the box from my WoC Spearhead..... So I guess my question is do GW offer an equivalent of the spearheadtheir 40k or were they a one time thing that never seemed to catch on??

Sometimes they do similar things at Christmas. But not currently

what exactly is it that you mean by spearheads? do you mean the box sets that came out before a codex release containing everything "new"? If so they don't do them for anything anymore, but at a time both 40k and fantasy had them.

If you mean the mega army sets that were roughly twice - three times the size of a battleforce, then they still do them annually around Christmas, 2 for fantasy and 2 for 40k
