    IG, would this list stand up in the new edition?

    40K Army: Imperial Guard
    Investigating the new 40k rules im not sure if this list would be better or worse in the new edition? Its mainly built with some fun/unusual conversions in mind but i would be interested to know players thoughts on how they think it would fare in the new edition.

    CCS w/straken,4melta,astropath

    Marbo

    2xVet squad w/shotguns,2melta,1flamer,demolitions

    PCS w/al rahem 4plasma,Chimera hull HF

    2xPlatoon squads w/Autocannon,Chimera hull HF

    SWS w/2plas,1flamer

    1 Valk w/rockets pods

    2XVendetta w/heavybolters

    I would say no, it would not do well, mostly because it is illegal. You can't have more than half of your army in reserve, assuming you are outflanking with Al Rahem.

    Having stracken in an army list only makes sense if you have large amounts of infantry, which this list does not have.

    Al'Raheem must be placed in reserves, therefore wouldn't count toward the 50%, so you should be ok on that. That said, of the 3 units that aren't forced to start in reserves (2 x vets & the CCS), I think 2(? I'm not sure if your round up what you do put into reserves, or what you don't) would be required to start on the table & they wouldn't last long.

    So no.
    Don't confuse toy soldiers and real life.
