Hi, I can get a WH40K 2nd edition boxed set from someone. There are 20 Marines in there (1 is missing tough), but I was wondering wich wargear is on them (if anyone recalls)?

Here is a better picture. You got two squads of Marines like the one shown there.
Sweet Sweet Memories of Christmas 1996!
Seagulls Forever.
The High Priestess: "You love your little men."
Yep, this takes me right back to junior high... current roommate has the tattered books and cardboard scenery, but the minis are long gone. Not sure if that's a bad thing!![]()
Oh, the days when plastic was actually cheaper than the alternative...![]()
I still have my 2nd ed box contents (minis, ruins, books and card dread all in good condition.. the box.. well it's seen much better days)
Oooh.. memories.
I still have my first painted miniature around from this box.. painted it in Ultramarine colors and for a 17 year old with no clue what he's doing he even came out all right (have seen far worse paintjobs from people who had painted minis before).
Good days..
I dug mine out recently after impulsively picking up Dark Vengeance and deciding to jump start a rebirth of my old Dark Angels. I've dug out nearly 4,000 (current) points worth of salvageable stuff, but it's all metal really except for my plastic land-raiders; the plastics from the 2nd edition starter are really primitive compared to the newer sets, aside from nostalgia I can't really understand why you'd want them? Compared to the quality of the marines in Dark Vengeance and Assault on Black Reach they are truly horrifying to behold, the heavy weapons especially![]()
Still have 140 of those grots to paint, in a box, somewhere
oh fml

They're perfectly playable models, and only the missile launcher has really changed significantly in appearance, but be warned they look patheticly undetailed compared to GW's more recent marines (even the snap together models, let alone the 'proper' kits). Personally i wouldn't bother with them unless:
- you're very poor and they're very cheap
- or you're a major nostalgia fan
