    Pick my army to dump

Well, the new Chaos codex price is out, and I see that Codex prices will be greater. The rising costs have made it improbable for me to continue playing my three armies. Which one should I dump?

    I play:

Dark Eldar: My first army with a long hiatus do to poor rules and the guys who taught me to play cheating. I was ecstatic when they were redone, and actually have them completely painted, and almost all based. They serve me well and fit my style of play well. I love the fluff, and win with less than optimal builds.

Eldar: I love the style of the army, but it is the most recent start up. Mostly just primed. I do poorly with this army, mostly from learning it still. When I started this was my second choice to build, and I just recently got it the way I like in the model department. I like the fluff, and the models.

Tau Empire: I like the Battlesuits, and the lines on the infantry. I don't care much about the Kroot but see the necessity to actually win a game here and there. I chose this army over the Eldar years ago and have all but the Kroot painted. It was the army I played the most before the return of the Dark Eldar. This army feels more like an army to me than the other two. The fluff is alright, but not as much fun as the Eldar, or Dark Eldar.

I have roughly the same amount of points in all three armies.

Hmmm well you may want to hang onto Tau possible update landing around November rumours say, if you really want to get rid of one I would say Eldar since you have only just started with them and not done a great deal to them and yo clearly love your Dark Eldar so if your gonna get rid of one my money would be on Eldar

You've already got your armies, keep them. Selling them at a loss of time and money is going to cost you more than any price bump.

One codex a year is not likely to affect you too much is it? You have no need to buy new models as well.

I just sold my Dark Eldar even though I love the models, they weren't fun for me in 6th ed though and a new release for them is way of so I don't think I will regret it in the near future.

+1. There's no upkeep cost to having an army go unused, and a simple Codex purchase each isn't going to set you back any where near as much as you'll lose on the second hand market. You don't have to buy the new units that come out, a Codex will breath just as much life into the existing models.

Re: Pick my army to dump

I'd hang on to all of them

DE are pretty good and suit your style of play; CW Eldar are getting an update soon, as are Tau

These things go in cycles, so i'd be patient and see what the new books for Tau / Eldar look like

If storage space isn't an issue then by all means keep them. Its' a lot easier to throw things into a smaller storage box and then drag them out a few years from now when you get bored with what you currently have.

However, if storage space is an issue then here is the rundown as I see it.

DE; Keep them. You worked hard of them and they are almost complete. Finish them off and be happy that you have a fully painted army that you can expand in small doses at will without worrying about playing games with grey plastic.

Tau; Keep them too. They are also almost done. Their tactics are different from the DE as well as the style you've probably painted them in. Finish off the Kroot and be happy that you've completed two fully painted large armies.

Eldar; Of the three I wold dump these. Their play style is too similur to either the Tau or the DE depending on how you run them. They are your least painted force so you've invested the smallest amount of time in them.

Re: Pick my army to dump

I say keep them all. The main reason is I consider Eldar/Dark Eldar as ONE army, due to the "battle brother" ally status. Eldar are also "battle brother" with Tau as well, so in my eyes you only have TWO armies total. Keep them all and start Chaos, bringing your total up to three

Another vote to keep them, especially if you play regular games.

DEFINITELY get rid of your Tau...... I guess I could help you out by taking them off your hands.
