How to paint tanned skin without Tanned Flesh?

Hi, I have a question that hopefully someone here can answer?

Here's the situation: I run a fairly successful painting service for customers in my local area. In the latest batch of models from a repeat customer (among some of GZG's beautiful Bubblegum Crisis miniatures) was a traveller or whatever for use in one of his role-playing games. He explicitly said that he wanted tanned skin.

That last bit is the problem. I don't have the old Citadel Tanned Flesh, nor whatever is closest to it in the new system. I don't want to buy new paints for a one-off miniature. The only skin tones I've ever really done use Tallarn Flesh (typical colour scheme) or Dheneb Stone (Raven Guard generally) combined with Ogryn Flesh, with a few instances of Scorched Brown with Badab Black. I've never done tanned skin.

My typical method is base-wash-layer-layer-highlight, delete as appropriate. The first layer is generally re-applying the base colour. Using this system, can anyone suggest a method that I can use to get something resembling tanned skin short of buying all-new paints? Thanks in advance!

Create your own tallarn flesh. Scorched brown with an appropiate amount of red should do well. Keep adding either bleached bone or elf flesh as you see fit (excusee the ancient names, I don't know the new ones, yet). At least that's what I would try. It will be a dark tan, but that's what you get when you start with Tallarn flesh. For a more Arabic tone, I would look into either vomit brown or snakebite leather with added reds/pink.

First thing is this: what base colour would the skin be? Would it be a tanned Irishman () or a Mediterranean () person? How much skin pigment would it normally have? (Smilies shown for skin tone puposes... )

If going for a tanned look, I'd go with a darker skin tone, like the old Vomit Brown. Then base it with Vallejo flesh, and add Ogryn Flesh wash, continue to highlight up and wash down in a series of layers.

First off, I only have Citadel paints, not Vallejo, P3 etc. I imagine that if I were to do him non-tanned, the figure's main skin tone would be Tallarn Flesh. I've started experimenting with a mix of Tallarn Fkesh and Khemri Brown with a Devlan Mud wash. The layer would be the original mix, and maybe straight Tallarn for extreme highlights. I admit that I have no reference, but Khemri looked right.

I've used bestial brown as a base and gradually added more and more dwarf flesh and it came out quite tanned
