I saw a guy with some jetbikes at throne of skulls last weekend and assumed they were already out. They are quite substantial models. They remind me of fifties hotrod cars. Very nice.

    Seventy quid? Not so sure....

Ye 25 each or 23.3 if you buy 3 its quite a bit, but its still £5 cheaper than converting the master of the ravenwing

Yeah, but then the Master rides a really good looking bike
40K - SoB - was completed until the WD Dex ; GK - lots more to do now ; DE - starting all over again, Ravenwing successors - started ; Orks - how much to paint?!?
WFB - Orcs, WE (forest spirits), DE (WIP)

With all the new figures coming out it's a full restart for the DE now, and then there's a whole load of new GK & now a rebuild for the poor SoB - this has been a very expensive 12 months

Matter of personal taste, i for instance much prefer these to the Ravenwing bike, might spring for them for x mas.

I'm much more a fan of the Bullock pattern jetbike, hope those come out later. The Scimitar I just don't care for.

I've got one of the old RT-release Bullock jet-cycles . . . it's very small, compared to these new FW Scimitars. It's small next to Master Sammael's jetbike. It's not all that much bigger than an RTB-01 "Beakie" Marine made to sit on it, in fact. Not at all the same class of vehicle as the other two.
Apparently, he had a very good time:

True, but the Bullock has been updated somewhat since. The diagram for one is in the White Scars novella, and is basically Sammael's Jetbike without the large wings, a more simple prow, and no plasma cannon under the nose.

This one? Looks kinda boring TBH. "Take bike, remove wheels, add prow, add jet" - I hope if Forgeworld redesign them there will be a few changes from that

I hope it is exactly that. I love that design.

    @Clang

I assume the Typhon is based on the Spartan chasis, so here's the size comparison

I also see what you mean about the shape of the scimitar... I assume you can't ram vehicles with them (not so up on my 40k rules these days) but if you could surely you could argue for a bonus D6 for extra penetration....

I think this part of the newsletter kind of conforms they will make other types "There are several patterns of jetbike produced by the Mechanicum, all of which are modified from designs that pre-date the Imperium, and all of which are in considerable demand by the Space Marine Legions[I.E you lot}"

They are quite easy to convert using Imperial ships from the BFG range and Chaos/Space Marine bikes.
I am currently looking to shift a sizeable amount of Chaos Space Marine models, including Dark Vengeance Cultists/Chosen/Helbrute/Lord, Fantasy Chaos Knights, a Dark Apostle, Fantasy (Finecast) Chaos Lord, Warp Talons, Possessed and painted models with Forge World parts. Send me a message if you're interested!

    QFT

In the Legion army list are the Jetbikes listed as Scimitar, or are they generic Jetbikes?

There are two squad types I think, the "sky hunters" who have different heavy weapon choices (Plasma, multimelta ect), and a more standard type with heavy bolters, though someone else should be able to give you the exact details
