    Radium paints Eldar!

    Hey guys!

I have finally given up on the lesser races of the universe, and I'll be focusing solely on Eldar from now on (until something shiny catches my eye I guess). Given the success my previous Eldar plog had and all the great comments I received there, I decided to start a new plog for just the Eldar. This will cover ALL of the Eldar, so Craftworld Elder, Dark Eldar, Harlequins and Exodites.
Bear in mind that this will probably be a very slow plog as usual, as I have other stuff to do in life as well. I do have a running start though, as I just completed my Harlequin army!

First up, an overview of the army:

    Close ups!

    Great looking Harlequins there.

Solid work. I heavily admire the terrain in the first picture. How's that made?

I saw them last week on the gt. Did you win bp?

One thing i thought was a bit disappointing were the jetbikes. I think you could have done better with the white parts. Further i really love your painting works.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! It really means a lot to me to see you all like it. The army has been a pain to paint, and even though there's plenty of things I can/should do better I'm really quite proud of the army as a whole.

I started off with a piece of MDF. I then built up the hills using styrofoam to get the general shape. After that I created the cliffsides if you will using cork tiles and pieces of slate. I filled any gaps with filler, and added a top layer of cork to the hills for added strength. After that it's just adding some sand and paint!

I was nominated for best painted, but sadly I did not win it. The jetbike canopies were the last thing I painted for this army, which was friday night before the GT. So I'll admit I could have done better on those, but I had run out of time.

Thanks mate! Here's some WIP shots of what I managed did this weekend, in between doing stuff for uni.

Behold the king and queen of cheese! Well, some WIP shots of the man. Still got a LOT of gems to do, a lot of general detail work and I need to fix some mistakes. But hopefully this gives you an idea of what Eldrad will look like when he's done.

Brilliant work- love the conversions, really characterful and matched by some great painting. Eldrad is shaping up quite nicely as well! Looking forward to seeing more in this blog.

    Re: Radium paints Eldar!

    Lovely work, subscribed!

I actually have a Harlequin army halfway through conversion too 2 troupes built, Farseer waiting to be built, warlocks built, Solitaire (counts as Jain Zar or Autarch) waiting to be built, storm guardians waiting to be built, vyper (venom, like yours) waiting to be built, jetbikes waiting to be built... just need to buy a serpent for the guardians.

How did you make the gun nozzles for the rangers? I am converting some corsair rangers (DElf corsair dragon cloaks, yeah baby!)and had a similar idea for shuriken/splinter rifles spliced together... but I haven't found a suitable bit for the tip of the rifle. Any hints?!

Great stuff Radium! Any chance of an army shot straight on, and without the 2 dudes pretty please? Love the 2nd WL, very dynamic.

    Re: Radium paints Eldar!

Just fantastic Radium. I've always loved Harlequins and I think you've got the combination between multi-coloured and dark and grim (which for me is what Harlequins should be) absolutely spot on. I really love those Spiritwalkers, the posing and painting is ace and the way that you've incorporated the Harlequin theme into everything (thinking about the Rangers in particular) is really impressive. I must admit I thought the jetbikes were unfinished because the white canopy looks quite plain in comparison to the rest of the army, would love to see you go back to them and go to town. Eldrad is looking fantastic, looking forward to seeing him finished.
My Various Painting Projects, just added Reek Rolat and SDE Dwarf. Please check it out and leave feedback which is all gratefully received

@ Jonahmaul & silverstu: Thanks guys! I'm hoping to finish Eldrad tomorrow, though I can't make any promises.

Ah true master never reveals his secrets! Nah, just kidding mate, they're the bottom half of the Guardian grenade pack (or at least, that's what I think those bits are).

Unfortunately, the board is currently at my parents place, so I can't take an army shot on the display board. I do, however, have two other photos taken at the Dutch GT. Sadly, those don't cover the entire army, but it's something! I'll try to get a friend (who is a photographer) to take some decent pictures sometime!
