    Rats and Black Powder

Sorry for posting so many independent threads I prefer dealing with each item in isolation rather than provide a list of disparate issues.

"Black powder weapons include, but are not limited to Handguns ... jezzails; Ratling Guns ... " Lustria campaign book, pg 5

I was surprised when reading the Lustrian campaign book to find GW classifying Ratling Guns and Jezzails as Black Powder weapons ... with all that entails ... and subjecting such rat weapons to the Lustrian rules for damp powder. I had always understood that such weapons were driven exclusively by Warpstone technologies.

Have I been misunderstanding all along? Should I be subjecting Skaven to all those spells and effects which limit black powder weapons to shooting on a 4+?

The Life spell, Rain Lord, has always counted Skaven weapons among the shooting it effects. The "warpstone technology" you refer to is that these weapons project chunks of warpstone, which is what makes them magical attacks.

It's not a railomatic or teleporto gun.

The jezzail is a type of musket. Certainly warpstone may be involved as a component in both the gunpowder and/or the bullet, but it is essentially an unstable high-power magic-suffused gun.

    Railomatic

Very well then. I am pleased to correct my understanding.

Although since the WLC is basically a crazy rat-cannon with no black powder .... it's not tooooooooo crazy to have extended the notion to the small arms eh?

The ammunitions of these gun are made of warpstone, but they use blackpowder to project them... That's what I have always assumed...

    Mais Zézette c'est qui?
Ben Zézette c'est moi, c'est comme ça qu'on m'appellait quand j'étais petite, c'est mon nom de jeune fille!
