    Since I've been playing a zombie tabletop frequently recently I did a zombie hunter:

    And here he is in action:

    I have a few on my painting desk, and I've already finished my flaming sphere. It''s just a broccoli base, but still, it's something. I love the minis and the models really do show up the detail when they have paint on them, but I dunno about their tendency to repel the first coat of paint. I'll toss up photos when I've more to actually show

    I've finished my first Bones model:

    Not complete happy with the paintjob (constructive criticism welcome) and there seems to be a problem with the casts of this particular model as both mine and some others I've seen have the outstretched hands fingers missing which spoils it a little. It is still a lovely model and I enjoyed painting it, just waiting on a 50mm base to arrive to finish it off. It's going to be a counts-as Varghulf.

    I've heard a few people say the Bones material doesn't take paint well. I spray undercoat everything. How does it handle spray?

    Spray primers can be more problematic than brush paints for Bones, and it really depends on the brand that you're using. The Army Painter primers haven't had problems reported, for example, but some people have had issues with Citadel. Check out this thread from the Reaper forums for information on priming/basecoating Bones:
    http://www.reapermini.com/forum/inde...he-difference/
    For me, I find that after cleaning the models in dishwashing detergent and lukewarm water they take paint just fine without primer. I didn't use any on the lizardman above, and he was basecoated with a mixture Vajello and Reaper paints.

    Hey everyone! While I can't hide my disappointment with having to still wait for my own Kisckstarter stuff, I still have heaps of the currently available bones figures. Today I painted a troll, the third time I've painted this model (one bones, one metal bought years ago)

    I decided to let each member of the family choose a miniature for me to paint, I'm then painting them in batches of four. If I get one batch done per fortnight it will take a mere two years to get through the Vampire pledge! Pictured below are the first four choices.

    Am I the only one painting Bones right now? Or has everyone else taken these to their blogs and plogs?

    Great stuff from everyone.
    @Maglock
    I love that snow worm.
    @EmperorNorton
    Lovely clean pain jobs on your stuff.
    @zogginheck
    Could you do a shot of metal and Bones side by side? ... I would be interested in any difference in detail.
    @Lorelorn
    Great to someone have a crack and Gandwarf ... lots of nice detail has come out on his beard and face.

    Here is my latest.

    Re: The Boneyard ... (A place for everyones Reaper 'Bones' miniatures)

    First Bones mini I painted:

    They call it an Eyebeast, but for me it is a Beholder... great memories for me because as a kid I was addicted to 'The Eye of the Beholder' games on PC. Good times!

    Comments:

    @Harry: splendid work on the Worm. Too bad it wasn't included in the Kickstarter campaign. The contrast on the Werewolf skin/fur works really wel. Like the Ogre too. The detail that the Bones can hold is amazing!
    @Gerod253: Hard to see the details but they look like a menacing bunch!
    @Maccwar: seeing this makes me wish I included the dragons too... too bad I didn't. Nice job! You shouldn't make pictures of spiders like that! hehe... the Ogre and Bear look nice. I like the skintone on the Ogre.
    @DaGabriel: Beautiful Dwarf. The lava base is a nice touch!
    @Aku-Chan: Stunning minis all round. You really have a knack for blending browns it seems.
    @Maglock: I adore your worms... perhaps I should rephrase but hey
    @EmperorNorton: Which Zombie Tabletop game would that be? I really want to use these minis! Crisp paintjob! Amazing skintones on the Barbarian.
    @zoggin-eck: You inspired me to paint this guy up as a Khorne Troll. Thanks!
    @Dai-Mongar: Nice lizard. Great neutral colour choice!
    @LordBest: Eery looking ghost. The colours work well together.
    @Lorelorn: Great first batch of minis. Good luck painting four at a time!

    Great work everyone. Lets try and keep this Boneyard alive!
    Feel free to check out my fantasy plog containing all things fantasy. Currently working on Hero Quest and Chaos (Daemons and Warriors).

    I think it's a beholder for pretty much everybody Great painting (awesome eye), I'm still undecided on what color scheme I'll give mine, I want to theme it so it's one of the 4 chaos powers, but I'm not sure between Tzeentch and Khorne. Probably Tzeentch though.

    Silly me, I thought I posted these here already, not in my old blog:

    In this example, the green is the old metal one, the brown is the new bones one. Photos aren't especially clear, and my painting is quite heavy, but I hope it gives some idea. There are some great comparisons of the more finer detailed female models online, showing a few issues (other than casting flaws) like hair not being as fine, but in this case I can't tell the difference.
