I hope they look not as comical as their other stuff.

Hope they hit the shelves soon. I want some!! I "need" them to build up some units to be "hired" by several different armies I want on the table
I am therefore I think OR I think therefore I am?

This is a must have! The 3-ups look very dynamic and I like the shield design!

I'm still hoping (possibly in vain) for some Byzantine plastics.

    Whoo! Whoo!

Wow, theses look great! The Horses seem a bit large, but I prefer a Semi-Heroic scale anyway.

    Re: Plastic Mongols by FireForge

My hope is that they are either all un-armoured or the kit has very few armourered horses which would be realistic.

Edit: indeed it looks like they will be unarmoured, according to the post below from this thread on TMP:

I was expecting some 3-ups of upcoming models and I was right! I was expecting the new models to be some sort of Muslim forces (mamluk cavalry?) but they were actually Mongols(!) and they were beautiful! I spoke to the guys and they will be light Mongol cavalry armed in variety of ways manufactured in plastic while heavy cavalry and characters/leaders(not shown at the show) would be resin(if I understood right).

FireForge are also moving their headquarters as at the moment they are only producing plastic kits but the new facilities will enable them to start making resin kits(when I asked if supporting blister packs would be metal the guys at FF told me that they are not planning on ever using metal, all plastic and resin).

At first I thought it was a surprising choice but then I remembered that the Mongolian 'Golden Horde' invaded Europe and in Poland they clashed in major battle at Legnica against combined forces of Polish, Teutonic, Templar and Hospitallier armies so actually Mongols are a great choice for next 'faction' as they have fought all guys in the existing range.

Hi pirate I was at Salute and i had a chat with Fabio the director of the company, and there are good news at the horizon , I don't mean next release are Byzantine but they have a very good response so in the future will be more and also expansion for Deus vult , so all in all I see not only a range in expansion but who knows. . . bye

As far as I know, they do not produce Byzantines of any sort.

Sadly.....no Byzantines...yet. Persians yes, No Byzantines.

I finally bought a box of Wargames Factory's Greeks.....GREAT details. I am still in the "laying out the contents" phase. Got plans for Greeks fighting whoever later this summer.

Looks like I'm alone in being disappointed they did not release mounted Saracens rather than Mongols!

I don't think you are alone, it's just there are also a lot of people excited by the idea of plastic Mongols. I may get a box but I would definitely have bought a box or two of Saracens.

Muslim troops are a certainty for 2014, atleast this is what I understand from a post on their forum.
