Well, I've finally got my hands on a digital camera, so I've decided to start a blog for everything I'm hoping to get painted over the summer. This will primarily focus on my Imperial Guard and Ogre Kingdoms, but once my Guard are finished, and my Ogres a good deal done, I'm going to start on a bunch of Khadorans for Warmachine.

So, down to the listings of my stuff to paint;

Imperial Guard
19 Kasrkin, which will be 2 squads of mounted Grenadiers.
9 Stormtroopers, either =][= Stormies or just another unit of Grenadiers.
6 Catachan Snipers, with mixed Ratskin/Tanith Spotters.
5 Plasmagunners, 1 Demo Charge, maybe some spotters/standard lasgunners.
Powerfist Commissar.
Vindicare Assassin.
Callidus Assassin.
2 Leman Russ Battletanks.
1 Basilisk.
1 Chimera.
Possibly some Ogryns.
For my ogres, there is a great deal left to do, I had a good bit painted but I've recently reconfigured some units, adding another bunch of gnoblars, another unit of ironguts and a slavegiant;

Another of my current projects is selling a ton of marines on ebay, who have recently gone through a nice brake fluid bath. Theres also a ton of LOTR to ebay.

I have a 3 month break from university, so I'd like to get the above completed before I go back. The majority of stuff is assembled, the Guard stuff is all undercoated and will be the first I need to complete, in time for some Cities of Death games, maybes even playing in GW. After I complete my ogres and guard, I have the Warmachine, which is still all boxed, I've managed to curb the compulsion to start assembling and painting those for the time being. I also have a load of =][= Warbands(28mm Witch/Daemonhunters) to paint, and a Lost and the Damned force.

This must be one of those cries for help, I'm looking for moral support here! Heh. Pictures should follow tomorrow!

Humm, well, it appears that the camera I bought was fairly rubbish for its intended job...
Yesterday, I got the horde of infantry basecoated, whilst today I spray undercoated a couple of the tanks, then basecoated the infantry. Unfortunately, the miniatures hardly show up in the photos.

I also dug out some other minis that I want to paint, with the aim of having a nice, diverse, Imperial Guard army, so I can keep my regular Tau/Ork opponent guessing...

The other miniatures I found were an OOP Imperial Assassin, to round out my =][= Death Cult assassins unit, Sly Marbo (just for the hell of getting him painted up), a Kroot Ox (I already have a unit of 15 or so Kroot Mercenaries which are nicely painted but seldom used) and about 10 Kroot in various states, in need of repairs and conversions, I believe I may turn these into a Kill Team under the pay of an Ordo Xenos =][=.

The marines I intend to sell on ebay require quite a bit of work too, I unearthed a couple of battered and pieces-missing landspeeders that could make some nice Imperial Guard jeeps (sentinels maybes?) but they will need stripping.

I also spray undercoated the basilisk and one of the russ' black, with a rather old tin of spray, so I was a little worried when they looked somewhat "fuzzy". I've just basecoated these (in the mix which I use for all my guard, a darker/greyer catachan green) and they actually look quite nice. I basecoated the chimera too, and put the black and boltgun metal basecoats on the weapons and tracks.

As for real painting, I got 4 Kasrkin completed except for static flock, which I'll do at the end of the large group of infantry. They're in quite a dark version of my standard guard scheme, looking quite nice though, in the style of spec-ops or SWAT. A change which I've decided I'm going to apply to the whole of the guard renovation/refreshing is the border edging on their bases, which I've decided is now going to be catachan green. This should help them fit in better on the grassy tabletops of GW, gives them a more "army" feel and also brightens them up a bit (there wasnt enough contrast, with dark green/grey uniforms, dark grey basing and then black base edgings.

I doubt that I will get much painted over the next couple of days, as I'm going back to my flat in newcastle, to celebrate a friends birthday, clean out my flat and hand in my keys.

Well, thats about it from me, theres some poor quality photos here, I didn't really have time to clear the good from the bad but I should get a chance quite soon! I'll update later in the week, hopefully with proper photos and some more progress! Thanks for reading,

Looking good so far! I have an older digital camera myself and I have found that the best place for me to take pictures is outside during a nice sunny day.

For example are two of my attached pics. The first one is inside with two lamps pointed directly at it and the second is a nice sunny day!

Heres a shot of the army altogether, minus another 20-30 troops (which will be either metal catachans, cadians or necromunda gangers, as auxillaries drafted from the PDF or gangs).
Still quite a lot of work to do, including the need to rebase/update the bases of every guardsman...
I have the Cities of Death book and the basing kit on their way to me.
