Sons of Tyr - Seventh War-Company

Having lost the previous thread to the ravages of time (I can't be bothered to search for it) this is the new thread for my WIPs and finished models for my Sons of Tyr DIY for Codex: Space Marines.

First up is some experimentation in battle damage and weathering.

Nice colour scheme and the freehand(?) chapter symbol is nicely executed and pretty cool to boot. The weathering is particularly good, my favourite thing has to be the mud on the top of the back hatch of the Razorback, nice touch of realism there that never would've occurred to me. Promising start to the plog.

I can't remember where I've these models before, but they are as fantastic now as then! I love the muted, yet colorful scheme.

Really nice: the chipping is excellent. Have you used custom decals? If not, then the freehand is excellent too! My one (small) gripe is that you haven't drilled out the barrels for the guns, but otherwise it all looks great!

Thanks very much for the kind words. Means a great deal to have your work praised, I think everyone can relate to that. Saardis, it's a transfer I made - it's the symbol of the Anishinaabek First Nation (native Americans) as their mythology inspired the background of this Chapter a great deal. I agree totally that I need to drill the barrels, between thesis writing and real life I haven't managed to get out to a hobby store.

Just a short update here; I managed to finish the multi-melta toting battle brother of Condor Cadre, Hawk Cadre's sister tactical squad. Here's some pics of the whole unit:

I'm very interested on the background and fluff of your force, is it possible to read something about it?
P.S. I searched on the Anishinaabek First Nation but I didn't find much...

I love the way they all look like they're dealing with a rushing enemy force. So determined and dug in.

Re: Sons of Tyr - Seventh War-Company

Whilst the rest of the Seventh War-Company is lost in the Warp en route to its next warzone, reinforcements from Madrigal have arrived:

These are the Mantic Hailstorm Cannons with modified barrels. Perfect Thunderfire models in my opinion. I kitbashed the Techmarines, Volund and Jahanu, from leftover bits and some Kromlech additions. I'll take better photos of both once they're finished.

For anyone wondering, the Thunderfires are a bit wobbly-looking because they aren't glued together, not even to their bases. This is for ease of painting

A close-up of Volund and Jahanu:

    Thoughts welcome!

Som great looking marines. Nice weathering and the thunder fire cannons look great.

Part of me thinks they might look better without the gun shield. It looks a little ramshackle & Orky.

Tech marines are brilliant conversions. Love the servo harness.

I love the techmarines. Could you please make some better pics of the harness and describe shortly what bits you used to get such a good result.
