Re: Resistance isn't futile: Danish resistance in WWII

Thanks guys, hope you still like the howitzer now it's finished. ;-)

@sigur: No, they didn't, but I want my models to have consistent basing, at least "one type of base for infantry, per army". Talking about that I did order bases from Renedra, but sent them to the wrong address, had to order again, so it's been a month were I haven't been able to base my Germans. I've still been painting though...

Some finished WGF Germans. To the left we see my sniper and to the right an officer type guy.

Then we have a finished howitzer:

And a unit of Kriegsmarine infantry. These were members of the German navy who towards the end of the war were given rifles and told to go out and defend the Fatherland, basically. They're in a right mix of uniforms, with naval blue, naval white and feldgrau.

Nice work, the Howitzer looks good. Have you considered some weathering techniques? I think a bit of simple weathering would really make it pop. It's a cohesive unit so far and looks nice.

Thank you. Yeah, some weathering may be a good idea...

Here are more converted partisans. Mainly made from the Anglo-Zulu War Brits, but with bits from the American weapon sprue, Russian infantry, British commandos, WGF Germans, Pike & Shotte, and even a head from Warhammer Empire Militia.

    Thank you!

Painted up a few extra riflemen for a game tomorrow. I also made a German medic.

Unfortunately this seems to be the photo quality I'll get for a few months, until the sun returns.

    Thanks mate!

I have started a new thread with Frenchmen I'll use for both WW2 and WW1, and (soon) Germans for WW1. Link

Man, I've missed most of this epic project.
Such nice minis and such a characterful and meaningful whole.
I love the pointy beard guy with the Molotov cocktail.

it's been a while since a good'ol group shot, eh?
Check out the Tale of Board Game Painters in the group project logs!

All my miniature painting in one combined log - index in first post - 40K CSM, Fantasy O&G, Boardgames and other random stuff

I'm liking the way this is going.

One think I'm wondering: is that medic authentic or something you just came up with. I like the idea - might even add one to my FoW Germans. But the white armband and red cross in 15 mm?

I know I'm late to the party, here, but those conversions are top notch, Mrtn. Is this project still ongoing?

Thanks. Define authentic. He's just a plastic dude I built with empty hands and an extra bag, but it looks reasonably close to German medics if you search for pics.

Thanks Dan. At them moment I'm mainly working on WWI Germans and (WWI and WWII) French. I also have some Perry samurai in the painting queue.

Here's an army shot of the Danes:
