Re: The Horus Heresy by Lil'Legend Studio

Whatever you've read about miniature painting I can tell you now that none of it was applied to Kharn. Instead of watering my paints down and blending multiple layers together I mixed the paint up with my own blood (even the whites) and 'stabbed' it on with the end of a bald brush. Varnish? ********, I screamed "Blood and Skulls" at the model for 20 minutes and now the paint is to scared to flake off. The nails sung their blood hymn as I sawed my own head off for the final oil/blood wash.
LOL, I believe you tho, all to stay in the mood of painting this madman. (I love him, when I grow up, I want to be like him).

As a doctor, I'd advise you to only use that method of painting sparingly!

    Awesome result!

I won't lie. I loled at the process for Kharn. Top notch job, I love how aggressive his face plate it.
These guys are an inspiration. I love the sickly feeling on Typhus. His armour looks a little....fleshy in spots.

Really fantastic work, I really like the realism and especially your method of painting armor. I hope you will make a tutorial on how you airbrush/paint your black armor on abandon and the justaerins. Looks like you build the highlight up with the ab and then tone it down with a wash? Do
you make any brush strokes at all or is it pure ab? But the effect is so smooth so there really needs to be a tutorial on this mate black armor is so hard to make realistic.
Just an easy question, what do you seal your minis with when finished?

Fantastic! It's great to see so many of these epic models painted so well! I am envious of your skills. And the method of painting kharn did make me laugh.

I love Kharn. He's always been one of my favourites ever since I started playing in 2nd ed. Can you speak to how you converted him? I knew someone was going to do that update, I'm really glad it was you.
