Who does the best dragon minatures?

    As the title say...

I'm looking for something big and scary haha helpful I know right

My Google fu is weak at the moment, so I'm asking if any of you have dealt with or know of any companies that offer dragon miniatures that scale well to GW

    Thank you in advance.

I'd say search for the ultaforge dragon. It has an empty place on top so you can switch characters whenever you'd like. It's not a saddle, more like a stand.

Forge world has some nice dragons too. I really like this one: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhamme...NE_DRAGON.html

They also have a warpfire and a magma dragon.

I guess this won't help, but I realy realy love the citadel forest dragon miniature (wood elves). I still have to see a better dragon (and I've seen quite a lot of them)...

Yes, that he is a towering Colossus of talent compared to whatever trained monkey-slave they chained to a Mac and forced to digitally sculpt these atrocities against the human eyeball.

Re: Who does the best dragon minatures?

I got one from Reaper miniatures; pretty much hit and miss for a lot of their range but I particularly liked (and use) this one:

Re: Who does the best dragon minatures?

Thanks everyone for the help so far, some great stuff! Can't is amazing, I actually don't mind spending the money on him to be honest, with aus GW prices it's either him or a SM captain in finecast

Basically what I'm doing is my HE will be using dragons instead of phoenixes, ice dragon, fire dragon etc, old schools caledor army.

I already have a Mage on dragon, cang would make and awesome star dragon if I want to role storm of magic stuff...

Re: Who does the best dragon minatures?

Cang is a hot contender for sure. Keep in mind though that he stands nearly two foot tall. In Storm of Magic terms, he is the perfect Emperor Dragon, but might even be a bit too big for that purpose!

A few other great dragon miniatures not mentioned till now:
    - Archangel, a Gargantuan from Privateer Press: http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...uans/archangel (around 25 cm high)
    - Nethyrmaul the Undying from Reaper's Bones series: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Bones/latest/77190 (Actually an Undead Dragon, but maybe fitting for a Phoenix stand in?, around 25 cm high)
    - Pathfinder's Red Dragon from Reapers's Bones series: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Bones/latest/89001 (around 12 cm high)

Reaper has a multitude of Dragons in all forms and sizes (also see the one Boli posted) and they tend to be relatively cheap, especially the Bones variants. Forge World's beauties were mentioned, the Carmine Dragon looks even more breath-taking when you see it in person, while the Warpfire Dragon is quite cheap and also looks pretty fantastic in my humble opinion.

This Cang... some day I will have one! I'll need an extra showcase just for it... but it will be so worth it.
Look upon us and Despair, for we are the End, the Decay of all things, the horror of rot and the blessing of plague.

My favorite Dragons comes from Otherworld Miniatures but these are not very well suited for Warhammer.

Cang is nice but has far to small wings for his size. I usually rate a dragon by it's wings:body ratio. I've yet to see a dragon mini that I really like that give that feeling of an reptilian eagle with a truly massive wingspan. I mean something that looks like it cold actually fly. As well as large wings just being awesome of course.

It's also worth looking at the MacFarlane dragon range. There are loads of great looking dragons in that range, but they are of varying sizes so it's worth checking, and they are toy-like plastics and that may not be your thing.

Worth a look though, in my opinion.

    My favs (no real order):

    Forgeworld Fire Dragon
    Forgeworld Chaos Dragon
Magnificient Egos Colossal Dragon (http://paizo.com/image/product/catal...O4011_500.jpeg) -- it's around 2-2.5 ft tall
    CMON's Cang (as shown above)
Rackham Titan Dragon (http://quirkworthy.files.wordpress.c...comparison.jpg) not made anymore; very expensive on ebay
The Mierce dragon (http://robertochaudonblog.blogspot.c...ngrislaug.html) will rock once it's done

    Regards,

    Sanjay

Hopefully only a minor thread-jack, but can anyone tell me if the Sisters + Dragon kit lets you make just the dragon "naturally" or if you have to do a bunch of filing/green-stuff if you don't want to have the sisters on it? (The pictures I've seen make it seem like they're entirely separate, but I'm not sure how much of that is down to customization... I like the dragon but wouldn't always want the Sisters on it so I could use it for Transformation as well as just looking good... which it likely wouldn't if I had to do a lot of cutting to get rid of attachment points)

Was gonna suggest this as well. When they were more widely available.. the price was unbeatable for the quality you get. Plus you know it'll be way sturdier than any other model. It'd just require you to paint over it, or just adding a little more details.
