Thank you. Mine were quite bad and yes, I've also found stuff after I started painting. But then I've only bought one batch of five blisters. But I'd guess the moulds are beginning to show their age.

I have the last of my Germans on the painting table now, as well as some Tirailleur Senegalais.

Those colonial troops are really nice looking. Good job, certainly an interesting unit and a very nice addition to your collection!

This is a French spotter I made, I'll probably use him as half of a sniper team.
He's a bit of a mix, mainly Warlord, with body from the soviet box, German blitzkrieg arms, British pistol and a head from Woodbine Design/Gripping Beast.

    Looks like it

It creeps me out. Also, imagine taking a round to the face. Wouldn't that cause so much swelling you would be useless for combat?

    Nice painting Mrtn

Yeah, they did have some interesting (often field-) inventions back then. I'm sure that the steampunk/ "gas mask nazis are cool" crowds would really get off on that stuff.

    Belated thanks guys.
IIRC the French experimented with visors, but when they added all the holes actually needed to see through it and breathe, they had weakened it enough that it was useless at actually protecting the face.

Here are some French/Senegalese that I painted back in June but I never gave them static grass or took photographs.

Very cool and certainly something different. Hey, is one of the guys sticking out his tongue at the enemy?
