Well I appreciate the thought. Quick questions if you can. Were they called Astra militarum? What size was the transport? What did they scions look like?

Sounds like a themed army to me. Perhaps it represents an Imperial Guard force from Segmentum Tempestus. Strange we haven't heard more of this if it's in WD.

Details! Details! :-) How big was this box shaped transport? How was it armed?

The transport is listed as militarum tempestus/ astra militarum, the tempestus version is the taurox prime whilst the astra militarum is just the taurox. The scions are listed as just militarum tempestus, 5 models in a box either making scions or a militarum tempestus command squad whatever that is.

Interesting, different options for different segmentums perhaps?

Hm. Is that something completely new? Don't get any hits for taurox on Google. No forgeworld stuff, no artwork. Has it been mentioned in the fluff?

I have absolutely no idea in afraid. Im going purely off a single pic of a white dwarf page. Dave Thomas sculpted both (although two other guys worked on the vehicle too).

I don't like all these silly names. What was wrong with Imperial Guard?

One theory seems to be that GW can't claim the rights to imp guard.

I can only think it's a larger version of the Taurus vehicle from forgeworld. But the tempestus stuff I have no clue how it ties in unless it deals with that part of the segmentum as mentioned prior. And scions are what sanctioned psykers?

Protection from Litigation, as a lot of companies have found first hand over the last decade or so (Wizards of the Coast did it with a lot of D&D stuff as well, especially for their attempts at miniatures). NonEnglishium Wordiums or Nounnoun AdjectiveNouns can be said to belong to the company that comes up with them, even (especially) if they are very silly indeed. Generic common use terms offer no protection at all.

Well, if it's made up it's been done well in the exact same format as white dwarf and not by myself

To be honest it looks almost like a riot control vehicle

The italian part of me can't avoid feeling that militarium tempestum sounds a lot like fake-40k-latin for storm troopers

So...A transport with veterans/standard grunts variants?
