The swamp itself is just for me!
Does anyone have C&C or reccomendations?

me personally i hate aquarium plants that havent been inked, they look too fake. thats part of the problem witht he likes of the resins you mentioned before, the GW stuff and the Woodland scenics stuff, they look fake as well.
the resin you chose turned out good. i can get that locally and not toto bad and will be an alternative to the stuff i have been using if i cant get it.
back to the plants, i think a wash of a green would help.
as for the tree leaves and viy leaves, where are they from?
i am interested in getting some.
Steve
My favourite site for scenery materials does the leaves Antenociti's Workshop.
Ink or paint for the wash on the plants?

i would try a wash of a watered down paint since it will leave it dull looking.
Steve
Ok! I will do that for this project! Anyone else with C&C+R?

i like
i agree that the plants look a bit 'bright', but also i think the 'stones' look a bit bright as well, maybe putting more ivy over the stones
#1 - The first rule of Warseer is, you do not talk about Portent.
#2 - The second rule of Warseer is, you DO NOT talk about Portent.
#3 - If someone uses l33t, the conversation is over
#4 - If you use Warseer, you must complain about Games Workshop.
#5 - Math-hammer is bunkum
#6 - As GOD's Melchiah , doghouse, Rictus and Xuchilbara require human sacificies
#7 -If it works, somone will steal the idea
#8 -If this is your first time at Warseer, you have to ask a stupid question.
maybe just a watered down wash of black or brown, not much more than dirty water i think would fix what cpl_hicks is suggesting.
Steve
I will take that on board for this project. The previous project is long gone hehe.

Looks amazing, am bloody jealous at your ability to make good scenery. Also wanted to thank you for the scenery you made for us at WARPS as well as going out of your way to adding extra cool stuff to it even though you had no reason to
Looking forward to see what else you make.
Toodles.

My pleasure m8! My only request that it gets used every week! hehe

It's looking very good. I especially like the cascading water!
You sunk my scrabble ship!
Next time I will experiment with the woodland scenic way of doing it. Maybe it will work better!

Here we go with another major update wheeee!
Here you can see I have fulled covered the model in sand! (and some texture paint) What I do here is get a mixing bowl/paint kettle and pour in some PVA, then add about two tablespoons of water and a little squirt of washing up liquid. After I have mixed it thoroughly I literally daub it all over the base and the areas I want the sand.
Be careful not to get it on any details you dont want sanding. Have a roll of kitchen roll handy to wipe off the glue from details. A better angle:
This may take about 48 hours to dry fully (thats why no update for so long). Additionaly I put on a second layer to make sure everything was covered. After the sand is dry grab a household dustpan brush and take your model outside and brush off any loose material, then turn over the model and bash it lightly to make sure all the loose stuff is gone. Brush again.
The next stage is messy! Get some newspaper and make sure everything nearby is covered. Dont wear anything you like and preferably wear some overalls. Open the windows and doors.
Texture paint stage: Get some normal paint brushes... large, medium and small brushes are what I use... just normal ones from wilkinsons. Paint over the sand, dont swamp or daub it... paint normally. Ideally you want the sand covered in the paint but not eliminating the texture of the sand. Make sure you paint all the model except detailed bits like skulls or dead troops.

Try a Dust Buster hand held vaccume, or one of those bagless vaccumes, they are great when you start applying flock and want to reuse the excess, especially on large boards.
looking good
Steve
I know what you mean, when the kitchen was last thoroughly cleaned I found about 2 quids worth of static grass and Ivy leaves hehe.
I would love a dustbuster. But am a bit poor atm![]()
