There are apparently three stealth suits. 15, 22, 25. Are there any differences? And can they be taken in the same squad?

No difference at all other than a name, you can mix and match if you want but it will look silly IMO, each to their own I guess.
The XV22 however is unique to Little Miss Shadowsun

so there's no different weapon models or whateveR?
there are different models, yes, but the rules are the same for the 15 and the 25 - the 25 model has space for the battlesuit system they're allowed, but the rules are the same.
The difference between XV15s and XV25s is purely aesthetic.
The XV22, however, is armed with two seperate fusion blasters.
Their stealth fields work the same.

The 15's and 25's function identically game-wise, but as far as modelling goes, the newer suits can already come modelled with a fusion blaster if you wanted to use one but stink at conversions like me. You can even mix 15's and 25's in the same unit if you want.
don't think it'd look good though mixing the suit types

Hey ya'.
Might work if you were only using the 25's for Fusion suits and had 15's for the Burst Cannons.
yea but then you get the whole kind of cost problem and what not. i dont think it would be right to mix both type in a unit. probably best to do 2 seperate units of the diffrent types if you can.
The more we do to you the less you believe we are doing it.
Hey ya'.
Cost problem? You mean points? 15's and 25's cost the same # of points, the only points cost difference comes when you give a suit a Fusion Blaster and that's the same difference whether it's a converted 15 or a 25 that comes that way.
Maybe you're talking money...?
Sorry, I just don't understand what you mean.
yea im talking money. also im not sure if they produce the metal ones anymore so what i think the deal is whats out is out right now.

Hey ya'.
Ah, ok. Makes more sense now.
The XV15's are still up for sale on the UK and US online stores, the 25's are marked as Advance Order on the UK site and don't come up on the US site so I figure they're still both available.
I'm using XV25 suits - with a XV15 Shas'ui. She's an eccentric old-school individualist, and the different suit makes her stand out and gives her some nice character.![]()

Note to converters - the fusion blaster supplied with the XV25 is only slightly different to the Crisis suit version (only the top is significantly changed - even the nubs for attachment to a Crisis suit's arms are there). I've chosen to use XV25s as my fusion blaster stealth units, and the ease of conversion means I don't have to buy more than one box. B)
Fluffwise, the switch to the XV25 was to include a hardpoint and the ability to switch the burstcannon out for a fusion blaster.
If it's purely the rules that you're worried about, then there is no difference between the XV15 and XV25, but if you also want to stay within the fluff, you should use XV25s for any suits which you give a fusion or support system to.
On the subject of mixing the suits, I find it works quite well to have the XV25 as the team's command suit, and the rest as XV15s.
Did any of you actually *read* the Codex?
The numbering system is according to weight classes. I forget the page in the Empires Codex, but it was in one of the write-ups about one of the new suits. The first number is the weight class, the second is the series within the class.

When I get around to my Tau force, mixing of suits will occur aplenty.![]()

It was in the entry about the XV22, just below the XV15/25 troop entry.Originally Posted by starlight
Tastes are different, but I strongly prefer the new suit, and using the most modern suit is fluffy.
I will soon buy more XV22 suits (when I have enough money), so I can use them with helmets (but perhaps with standard XV25 weapons) to represent the next generation of stealth suits in a year or so. Expensive but fluffy again.
Yup. Those new 22's are going to be widespread in my force.
