Yeah, I think we all got that. It still was a fun little film, but not all that much more to me. Horror films have been deconstructed so many times since the 1940s.

Frasier became my before-to-bed show now as well.

I quite liked Cabin in the Woods as well.
And since I currently have no show to watch, I think I'll check out Frasier, which I have never seen before.

As I said, I enjoy it. It's a fun little time capsule and it actually is pretty witty and I like the characters. Don't get discouraged by some attempts at family drama in the first two or three episodes.

Frasier and Seinfeld are both outstanding, although, gun to my head Seinfeld wins out.
Blackadder is my other all time comedy fave, still ball bouncingly funny after all these years.

Non comedy wise my faves are The Wire, The Shield, boardwalk empire, GoT, Orange is the new Black and True Detective.
We are really in a golden age of TV series at the moment in my opinion, a lot of top shows out at the moment
Watching Tour de France in Australia = No sleep

I see your Frasier, and I raise you a Louie. Brilliantly dark comedy on FX with not a laugh-track in sight.

    Same here.

Blackadder is of course great. Seen it in my early teens first, really good stuff. However, so many of the gags are really telegraphed which stopped me from re-watching it a few years ago. :/ But if you've never seen it it's amazing.

Good that you mention it, because I was just about to give up after two episodes, which did not grab me at all.

I did not care for the few episodes of Seinfeld I have seen, but I am willing to blame that on the German translation.

Yus, they drop the drama part except for a few bits here and there but it certainly doesn't take on a formula in this regard.

On Seinfeld I absolutely agree. Years and years ago I watched a few episodes of Seinfeld in German and it just wasn't funny. Because it isn't in German. A few years ago a friend made me watch a few episodes in English and I was hooked since then. I enjoy that show over and over again. No idea what makes it so much funnier in the original language but it's really good.

Not exactly current, but I would highly recommend HBO's Rome series. The more intelligent declines I've had included statements like 'I'm not into that time period' or 'I don't like historicals' but it is a truly brilliant drama. For those who aren't fans of the period, or historicals in general, it may take up to 3 episodes to get 'really' into it, but the drama, the violence, the character relationships and the character development are epic.

I don't even know how to. The guy playing Gordon wasn't bad and Will Smith's wife wasn't bad and everything else about it was an atrocity? Bad acting, terrible script, the whole nine.

Unless it becomes a radically different show, there is no hope. I've yet to hear anything good about it. Wait, no, one person said, "It has potential."

I haven't seen it either, but every single review I've seen has been good.

About the only things I was watching were Continuum and Defiance. Both are in hiatus but both got new seasons, so I'm happy.
There's a sarcasm present in both shows that I find refreshing (Continuum is Canadian and it's just so funny hearing "******" on TV) and Defiance has a Kiwi for a lead, and Graeme Greene alongside - it's going to get sarcastic any way you play that.

So Defiance is still on the air, eh? Interesting. I'd heard bad things after the premiere. The name is very generic and incredibly forgettable but I do remember that very interesting thing how they released a computer game to go right along with the series when it started. That was interesting. Pre-emptive tie-in or something.
