Re: 3D printed terrain and bits

    Hi All,

Along time ago I found some plans to make an imperial bunker DOW style out of foam-board. It worked so well I decided to model it and print it in 3D.
    Here is the result :

It is made of several parts, glued together.
It can hold a full men squad mounted on standart 25mm round bases.

I do not remember the author of the original plan to credit him. If you know him, let me know .

    Cheers.

A new innovative design, to recycle soda (or beer...) can :
few 3D printed parts added to he can to transform it into a reservoir.
A top an a bottom part designed to fit a 33cl standard can. Two rings with bolt to add some details to the front and back panels, a command panel and an output pipe.

The pics of the prototype :

What do you think of it ?
What can of details or option would you add ?

    "What can of details..." Lol

First off, love the shapeways store items. Most pics on this blog sadly seem broken from the crash though.

About the can parts, additional options for connecting tube; T-joins for connecting multiple together, or a connection compatible with the promethium relay terrain set.
Gangplanks with hex crossing holed floors...

Ohh stairs that match the 40k terrain sets (big steps that each hold 25mm models)

Of course I was meaning "kind of details"

    Thanks for your suggestions.

I started to re-upload the pics in the previous posts, but it seem some of them kept "memory" of th disappeared pics and I got message telling me i cannot upload more than 10 pics per post...

I've already designed stairs matching 40K terrain in two version classic or industrial:

    Excellent!
Love the stairs, good work and soo quick to respond with built option
All about thinking what is important, missing a gap in the market and filling it.

    Looks good

Stairs are perfect! Exactly what I was thinking, except you've done it! Kudos there!

The stairs are great, but the combination with more traditional terrain making is just awesome. I love the soda can concept.

    Hi folks,

Some update on my soda can kit following received suggestions :

a top (or side) access), which can be connected to a walkway, itself accessible with a ladder.
The top access can be completed with a round cover (second photo left can) or covered with a cap to make it flat ( second photo right can).
The flat cap allow the walkway to be installed on the lenght of the can.

The ladder, as you can see, is of course "climbable" by any adventurous trooper.

    Still working on details.

    Happy Easter !

Some great work here. I have been thinking of getting a 3D printer but I know next to nothing about them and I am not particularily 'puter savy.

    Hello codsticker,

I also knew nothing about 3D printing before I tried.

Even if your are not a "computer savy" as you say, you may play around with some 3D building software, like FreeCAD, to discover all your creative potential.
I'm pretty sure you will be surprise quick by you ability .

    Just dare.
