150pt SEF list, no idea where to start, help me

So I'm new to infinity and picked up way too many models, now I own the entire shas model range (except the cadmus for some reason) along with an umbra legate hacker.

Got a game on Wednesday and I would like some advice on what to field, and also how to build my two boxes of drone remotes; one set of older models, one set of newer sculpts. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Gratz! its a great system but be warned the learning curve can be a bit steep. Stick with it!
Well CB's official Army builder is a handy tool to start out with (Filters for equipment and stats etc) I'd certainly take a look at that.
Are you playing a mission of any kind or just a running straight fight?

Edit, Im here to late for advice for your game. How did it go?

Game didn't happen last week, but I should be playing this Wednesday. Definitely not going to be discouraged from the learning curve. I understand SEF is a little underpowered and order starved but the fluff and overall look has me hooked.

Been playing around on Army V but I'm unsure how to fill the list out, specifically; how many specialists is optimal? I've read 3-5, so probably two seed soldier FO's, and a Caliban engineer?

We are going to roll on scenario right before the game so I'd probably be safest making a take all comers list? Pretty safe to say we will have objectives though, my group likes to use the ITS scenarios. I do know my opponents will either be Nomads with the robot cats, or Achillies in a link team, or Adriana with mostly Kazaks and vet kazaks.

As for the remote drones, I'm thinking of building the older set as a Q-drone and R-drone, and the newer ones I'm thinking of going with an E-drone and a 2nd Q-drone, I'm not against proxy but try not to, darn GW has me stuck in WYSIWYG mode. just can't afford buying more to fill them out and asking for what might be best to start with. Probably won't field more than an on R-drone because ava 1.

Regardless, I'll get back on how the game went by Thursday.

Well I think working in an MSV2 is always going to be a good idea. It will help you vs ODD on the Aleph units and the Mimetism on the Vet Kazaks plus if the Nomads take Intruders and prowlers and Zeros. Id say you will always get your money's worth from it in that Meta. And a hacker to throw up supportware should be worth a look too if your running drones (+ he's a specialist) I quite fancy I go at writing a SEF List now, tell us what you currently have in your collection and Ill take a shot at it :P

Shrouded FO´s, Hackers and Dr Worm aka Mechanoid Drone are nice specilaists for SEF. Add a solo Seed Soldier to act as emergency rescue for the Doc or backline mission solving. On the offensive front Noctifiers are good. A Suprise attacking (=attacking out of TO Camo) will kill even a Marksmanship Lvl 2 boosted Reaktion Zond. For cheerleading (cheap guys adding orders to the pool) Ikadrones are good as they also are Baggage (bonus Points holding ground) and can Intuitive attack (shooting camo markers) all on the cheap. There are a number of directions to go with SEF, but that´s a skinny on some nice starting Points.
