    Minis all over the place,.

Alrighty then! I decided to start this plog to celebrate my return to the hobby after years away. I used to be singularily focused on the armies I played (Lizardmen and Marines) but after coming back this hasn't been the case, and I have several projects underway, and they are:

    Beholders
    2 Tactical squads done.
    2 Rhinos done.
    1 Dreadnought done.
    1 Terminator squad done.
    Terminator Librarian done.
    Command squad half done.
    1 Scout Squad done.
    1 Scout Squad half done.
    1 Predator done.
    1 Assault Squad done (EM4)
    Sicaran done.
    1 Techmarine done.
    Land Speeder done.
Lizard Cavalry squad done (count as bikes).

    Several squads and vehicles aquired.

    WFB Goblin army
    Most of the army acquired.
    General done.
2 Units fixed and have their bases magnetized
1 Magnetic movement tray sort of done

    Karnac's Raiders/Preslotta Lizardmen
    1 Warrior, "Gho", done.

    Frostgrave Warband
    Wizard done (might redo)
    Apprentice done (might redo)
    Warhound done.
    Werewolf for bestiary done.

    Necromunda Gang
    Several figs acquired.
    1 Ganger done

    Jade Lotus Clan
    Several figs acquired.
    3 Shugenja done.
    7 Ninjas done.
    1 Monk done.
    1 Peasant done.
    2 Samurai done.
    1 Yakuza done.
    1 Oni done.

    Dogs of War
    Cursed Company:
    Musician done.
    3 troopers done.
    Banshee done.
    Several figs acquired.

    Ricco's Republican Guard:
    Command done.
    9 troopers done.

I'm no Picasso mind you, and I've never sculpted so this won't be quite as fancy as some of the other plogs around here. To start off, here's my workspace (Aka, my living room table. Also where we usually play.):

Any and all comments and questions and constructive criticisms are welcomed!
And yes, I noticed that extra comma in the title, but apparently I can't edit it. Oh well.

    Let's start with Frostgrave!
I got into the game late last year and we've played a few times with my friends. Great fun, and if you like skirmish games you should definately try it if you haven't already. The wizard and apprentice are the first two figs I've painted in years and it shows. I'm not quite happy with them, and might repaint them at some point. The werewolf is already much better in my opinion. These will be based when I manage to decide between square and round bases.

    Camund the Red, the wizard.

    Britha, the apprentice.

The book is about the only part of the paintjob I actually like.

    The terrifying Warhound

I've spoilered the images because they turned out to be massive. I've already uploaded all the pics for next few posts so those will follow the same procedure, but after that resizing them on upload will be the policy.

Frostgrave continues with the werewolf and some fellows waiting for their paintjobs before they can join their buddies.

    Werewolf

These guys will be a knight and captain respectively. Sir Titus has had his sword fixed with green stuff because he came broken. I would have asked for replacement but for the fact that the fig already is a replacement (the first one had the same breakage and additionaly the sword looked more like a banana than a sword) and I couldn't be arsed to go through the process again.

Re: Minis all over the place,.

    Next up is Cursed Company.

I've always liked the cursed Company both fluff and mini wise and I've had some of the figs for years but never did anything with them before now (infact, most of them are from Warseer). Plan is to build a decent sized unit of the Cursed Company with other cool undead (mainly skeletons) figs mixed in to break the monotony of only a few sculpts.

    Musician and two troopers.

    Banshee

The unpainted bunch. I have another lizardman and the banner for the standard bearer somewhere, but I've no idea where exactly.

    Next up, Necromunda!

With the rerelease of Necromunda (hopefully) looming ahead I decided to start a gang. I always though the official gangs looked too organised and uniform though, so with that in mind my gang will be a mix of minis instead of just making one of the house gangs. Feels more like Underhive to me that way. So far only one mini painted, but there's bunch of them waithing for their turn.

Diaz. The face didn't work out so well but otherwise I'm pretty happy with it.

Bunch of unpainted gangers. Especially looking forward to painting the rice hat scavenger.

A couple of ratskins waiting to guide (or lose) the gangers around the Underhive.

    Next up, Gobbos!

When I came back I decided I need a new army since I couldn't bear to watch the abominations that are the paintjobs me and my brother put on the lizardmen when we were kids but didn't want to strip them either. Nostalgia and all that. After some pondering I settled on Goblins. The whole army is bought used (because GW) in different sized lots, which means there's quite a bit of repairing, etc. to be done. I'm also magnetizing their bases and making metal movement trays for them to make setup and play smoother. You can see most of them on my table in the opening post.

The Goblin General, unnamed for now. I should have greenstuffed the edges of his base before basing but otherwise I think he turned out quite nice.

The movement tray is still a bit crude looking but the magnetic tape works well. It wasn't strong enough for metal minis though, so that'll take some pondering.

The sheet of automobile steel I'm using for the movement trays.

Re: Minis all over the place,.

Startings of the Preslotta Lizardmen and the Oriental warband.

These haven't been painted yet so feel free to skip. The plan for the Lizardmen is to build regiment of Karnac's Lizardmen Raiders complimented by other sculpts, in the same manner as the Cursed Company. I have Karnac himself, the Standard bearer and musician in the stripping pot (been there over two weeks and had numerous scrubbings - the paint is infernal) and more in the mail coming to me. I also got a set of Tom Meier's Lizard Warriors but they're quite a bit smaller than the other lizardmen so I'm not sure whether they'll figure in to the project or not.

Trooper, Musician and a Shaman, all unpainted.

The oriental warband is in similiar state as the lizardmen, most of the figs are still in the mail, and some are in the pot due to their eternal paintjobs. This will be mostly Citadel Oriental Heroes, but also some other minis that fit the theme well. I managed to get 30ish old citadel hexbases, which these will most likely be based with.

    Banzai!

EDIT: I've no idea why the lizardmen pic suddenly shows some architechtonic painting (?) or somesuch - the url is the same as the one on tinypic. It used to work before too.

EDIT2: Aaand now it's back to normal. Weird.

Re: Minis all over the place,.

This one will be about some other nice (and a couple of less nice ones, more on that later) minis that don't fit any of the projects.

First off is a mindflayer. I really liked the mini and I'd like to make a Mindflayer character if I ever get to play in an evil campaign of D&D so I painted one. Just in case.

    Braiiins!

    Secondly, old chaos sorcerer.

    Suitably mean looking I hope.

And last (and, frankly, least) a 3D printed bonus! One of the libraries near me has a 3D printer that you can use for minimal fee (something like 0,4€ per print or something) provided you reserve a time slot. I thought it'd be cool to see if it worked well with minis/gaming in mind.

The answer? Not so much. For tokens and the like sure, but minis? Not really.

This is a great collection of minis you got there. Especially on Britha you can see that you put a lot of effort into that one.

    Love the warhound mini.

Are those far eastern chaps Foundry minis?

    I'm no Picasso mind you...
Meh, no problem. He's not the best dude to emulate when it comes to painting wargaming figures anyway. Looking forward to seeing more varioud stuff!

No, most of them are old Citadel. Foundry is more focused on the samurai than the ninja. The three on the right are from em4 (two of the gangers are from them aswell). Britha did indeed take fair amount of work which is why the end result is so dissapointing. I like the warhound quite much myself, it's from warlord games prince ruprecht, IIRC. I got the blister solely for the dog.

Thanks for comments both of you!

Today it's Cursed Company and the beginnings of the oriental warband.

More the merrier, troopers are always needed.

    Shugenja.

    First Ninja of the warband.

    Another Ninja.

It's pretty hard to tell from the photos, but both of the ninjas have areas painted in the same jadeish green as the Shúgenjas coat. I'm planning on using that as a tie in for the warband. The minis won't necessarily have a colour scheme but they will all incorporate the green in some form.

So... not really all that good plog keeping, eh? Well now I'm back! I'm also back to the old photo tactic due to posting from phone. Since last post I've started another project (it's an illness really), DIY retro maribe chapter called Beholders, and made some progress with the others, mainly the orientals. Without further ado, Beholders!

    The force so far.

Keeping with the marine theme it's a miscellanous member of that bunch. After the Orlando shootings a fellow hobbyist on the Oldhammer facebook group had a nice idea of using the community’s modelling abilities to support anti-homophobia with Rainbow Warriors, which, while ultimately only a gesture, I thought was one worth joining in. With that in mind, I present this brother of the Rainbow Warriors chapter, sworn to defend against hate and intolerance. I’m not certain whether the father of the idea wants his name known so I’ll link to his blog post on the subject instead:
    http://leadplague.blogspot.fi/2016/0...cists.html?m=1

Onto happier things, we also have the first Lizardman. He serves as the mini for my D&D character:

N64 for the win! In true ninja style they hide on the underside of the base. Great work on the rainbow warrior I'm in the facebook group but paint far too slowly to get one done on time.

To celebrate the return of Warseer, the plog will return aswell! Sadly I haven't had much time to paint lately and I've managed to destroy all of my good brushes which is a bit of a problem, but I've managed some stuff in the time the site was down. A couple of quick pics before updating the main post:

Overall (aerial?) look at the Beholders.

    A techmarine.

Land Speeder. I initially attached the base with green stuff and superglue but that ended up being woefully inadequate so I turned to magnets (big) and epoxy (smelly) to get the job done. A bit wobbly, but functional.
