Re: Tale of Board Game Painters 2015-2016 Month 8: April Complete & May WIP

This month I've finished Brother Claudio. I also started work on two more Terminators, but I was unable to finish them this month.

Brother Claudio served in the elite 1st Company under Captain Raphael during the late-500's in M41. He most famously took part in the cleansing of the Space Hulk known as the Sin of Damnation in 589.M41. A warrior in Terminator Assault Squad Leodinus, Claudio is skilled at close-quarters combat. His preferred armaments are a pair of Lightning Claws. Thousands of foes have fallen beneath Claudio's blades over the centuries and he was lauded amongst his battle-brothers for his unflinching dedication to his brothers. Aboard the Sin of Damnation Claudio's fellow squad members were slain by a surprise Genestealer attack, filling him with a cold fury and bloodthirsty desire for vengeance.

The BattleMasters project continues. I finally finished some more Imperial troops; the poor Men-at-Arms were feeling pretty outnumbered.

April has been a hectic month.
Highs and lows, none of which left me much time to paint.

But I managed to model and paint a Feralgeist (proxy) for Hordes Minions.
It is made from part of Morghast Archai, a spare troll head and some green stuff.

    Greetings,
    Owl
Owl can spell his name ("Wol") and the word "Tuesday" (so that you know it isn't Wednesday). He can also read, although only if no-one is looking over his shoulder.

Well, I've been absolutely rubbish at posting any board game progress this year. Apologies to all. I should've dropped in to comment on all your lovely work. Will try harder.

I've mainly been working on commission stuff for 40k.
In between I did finish the SDE slimes off,

I should've posted these months ago, I think I finished em back in December, not that there's much to them.

I still hope to do more BG stuff though realistically I'm not sure if it will be as part of this Tale, or if I will start afresh in the next one.
    I have so much BG stuff to paint and the list is getting longer;
    SDE stuff
    NAS stuff
+ I backed Rail Raiders so come October there will be even more.
    Oh, and SDE Legends.

If I do finish anything else I'll be sure to post it here.
Check out my log of random things here.

Covering Fire: Your clean, bright paintwork continues to impress me. I always have trouble working with bright reds (and yellows). And you've gotta respect a Terminator who goes into a space hulk without any ranged weapons.

Great Horned Owl: Nice shading. And good work with the conversion. That is weird and quite disturbing, which I assume is what you were going for.

BoyMilla: Are those translucent plastic, or did you do something really clever with them? They're cute, whatever the case!

I wish I was half that clever! No, they are translucent plastic, so basically I've painted a few eyes and bases

@Covering Fire - Great work on Claudio! Your set is going to be very impressive on the table. What do you have left to do?

@Colshaw - I wasn't really familiar with Battle Masters, what scale are they? They look slightly smaller than usual WF minis.
I particularly like the two tone horse legs which are very natural looking, & the transfers make them pop as well.

@Great horned owl - Nice work! Good conversion and the paint job matches the feel of the model well.

They're about the size of WHF 5th Ed models; WHF underwent some size creep between 1993 and today. So they're 28mm heroic scale, just a little on the small size compared to some of today's offerings.

I'm pushing hard to finish the whole rest of the BattleMasters set this month; 6 horses to go and that's it. I will have many pictures come end of month!

@Colshaw: Nice to see these old school models painted up! The bold colours match the knights perfectly!

@Great horned owl: Great use of different bits in order to create a unique model! Looks quite scary too!

@BoyMilla: Good work on the slime creatures!

    Comments on comments:

@ColShaw: Thanks! The red colour scheme I've used is quite easy: Mephiston Red basecoat - Agrax Earthshade shading - Wild Rider Red highlight. Yeah, poor Claudio usually don't do that well in the game. Should have brought a gun instead!

@BoyMilla: Thanks! I've got the two Sergeants left, and the dead space marine on a throne...so three models!
