The bright interior colour contrasts nicely with the dirty exterior, and the base looks great, very nice!!

Thank you bugbait_nz. I have a parcel at the post office waiting for pick up; hopefully it is my stuff that will allow me to start work on the table itself.

Great Mordheim terrain their Codsticker...you could even use it in 40K for a ruined building in a lesser developed world. (Brings back memories of Warhammer Siege and it's mixing of the two games)

    Cheers,

    CB

Thanks CB. I have a "date" with Hypaspist for a game on Oct 21. I hope to have my table and another building done by then.

    Re: Kodsticklerburg: A Mordheim Project

I have made some progress on the table all the ruins will sit on. I started with an old 4x4 table I had made for my kids' playmobile (of course, it also saw many games of 40K). I peeled as much of the old paint off of it and scribing in paving stones in the areas that were least damaged and then started painting them grey:

After that I started the long process of covering the rest of the board with a mix of Sculptamold and paint:

    First, dark brown...

... followed by some dark grey.

The white ribbon in the upper left hand corner with be a creek. I glued sand down for the road leading from the corner to the creek; the two sides will be connected by a bridge.

I should be able to get some work done on it tomorrow night.

    Thank you Colonel Jacka.

I have finished painting the murky creek; glued down rocks and sand; drybrushed and inked the dirt and rubble. Now I am ready to do some detailing: adding dry grass here and there, some dead branches and dead leaves and put a few coats of gloss on the water.

I was hoping to get the table all done this weekend but didn't quite get there (other real Life projects have interfered...). Static grass, reeds, shrubs and leaves all applied.

That board is incredibly inspiring. I am having trouble picking what I like best. It's a visual treat to see all that nature reproduced so deliberately. Nice work.

Re: Kodsticklerburg: A Mordheim Project (WARNING: Some photos are HUUUGE!)

    Thank you guys.

    A bit of an update...

In early September I ordered some stone walls from Fenris Games as I wanted a dry stack stone wall and it had to have a curve in it such as these. Unfortunately, they just got shipped a couple of weeks ago and it could eassily be 2 more before they get here so I had to come up with an alternative: so I made a hedge. I wanted it to look irregular, like it had grown up as a natural border between the town and the pasture land. As a consequence I used a variety of materials including grape twigs from an Ashland Wreath. I think I will be using more of this stuff. Although fragile, it looks great IMO.

The hedges look incredibly realistic I also love the steps within the cliff face - makes the table feel inviting for miniatures to explore through

    Thank you iron kid.

This table gets it's first run out this coming Saturday with fellow Warseerite Hypaspist. I believe he will be bringing a Beastmen warband. I am waffling between Skaven and Dwarves.

I had just a few odds and ends to add before this coming Saturday: some ladders and a bridge. The ladders are a mix of rather plain MDF ones and the LoTR Uruk Hai siege ladders. The bridge is made from balsa wood and carved and gouged popsicle sticks.
