The first Squat for the army is now painted. This is a Berserker (counts as ministorum priest):

Now that I have some snipers, a Jokaero and some priests, it's high time I got my **** in gear and started painting some of the basic troops... so that is what I have done . Here is the first (rough) base-coat on the first squad of No.2 platoon:

Mate I really like that colour pallet. Very dowdy indeed, greens and browns very Squat. Green Rifle are interesting as well. A very modern concept cammo rifles.

Got the Snipers base coated and will get them finished this week.

    Cheers

@ Colonel Jacka - I look forward to seeing them

In other news, my life has started to slow down again and my weekly travels are now over so I may well get a bit more time for painting (although the builders are in for the next couple of weeks while they completely renovate my bathroom).

While I haven't had the motivation to paint recently, I have been list building and have managed to shoehorn what I have (and what I planned) into a bit of an organisational tree:

Luckily, I found a whole platoon of troops that have already had loads of work finished on them (just the arms to go) so a lot of the work has been well and truly started . I can see another couple of year's work here, for sure ...

Re: The Squats of Inso's Reach

I've started the next veteran squad. These will all have berets. The main weapons will be shotguns and meltaguns. There will be a comms trooper and the sgt will have upgraded close combat weapons (probably a bolt pistol and power weapon):

    Cool tank.

I'm getting an SAS WW2 vibe from those guys. I like the fella with the 'evil-looking goatie'

Re: The Squats of Inso's Reach

As a result of having to make these guys a regiment, I have chosen Catachan Jungle Fighters so these particular veterans will be getting red berets.

I'm glad the WW2 theme is coming through... once they are painted, the theme should be even more evident.

It's a shame that veterans can no longer have carapace... now my Tyranid Hunters are just standard veterans .

Anyway... the troops are now armed so next up will be a layer of putty on the wire before I start sculpting them properly :

    Remember this?:

Well, all of the leg casts have now been sold and I won't be casting any more. That said, I have had an offer for the green so it is likely that it will be sold and may be cast up by someone else in the future. Sadly, there wasn't the demand for me to keep casting them .
