Question Necron Crypt Stalker Superheavy/Titan Rumours

After browsing through Relic's WH40K Tabletop Discussion treads I noticed something rather peculiar. In the Medusa V stories about some fight with the Necrons the Imperial Guard saw what has never been seen before: a HUGE bug-like machine thing used by the Necrons! That could only mean one thing: Forge World will probably unleash a second mega heavy weapon for the Necrons! Or not, but we'll bave to wait and see about that!

And if you don't believe me, click here! The second page of this thread also has interesting info about what the new Necron Superheavy could be!

there are some nec. superhevies in epic, but they are more like pyramids, giant pyramids, and it would take to much resin.
Have money, want skulls. Human, ork, grot, eldar. Cracked or whole. With or without jaws. No helmets!
    PM me for info.

more importantly, (if I haven't missed something in E:A ) there ARE no actual superheavies, yet. Necrons are pretty much still in the 'design and way-far-off'-phase..
I'd be surprised if there was something concrete coming up.

Problem with big Necron things is that they will probably be rather bland, as previously stated, just a large triangle....

    In Epic you're dealing with obelisks (light support monolith types);
    Pylons (now they are cool)
    and then into titan:
    -abbattoirs (moving temples effectively)
-Orbs giant floating containers containing a piece of a star-a true titan killer.

Nothing giant and bug like. So this would be a new thing.

    It was described as:

"...a large and never before seen mechanical spider-like creature with a massive glowing thorax."

It sounds pretty sweet. Wonder how it would do vs a Baneblade?

That's popped up now and again. Forge World were rumored to be working on a Necron "Harvester" type construct a couple years ago. Remember the spidery infant-harvesting machines from The Matrix? There you are.

I wouldn't be surprised, at all. I wouldn't expect it soon, though. FW need to work on new Eldar stuff for the Codex release!

necrons dont need a super heavy walker, they need a normal sized walker for everyday games... i wish forgeworld suported this more, the building of standard sized vehicles for basic play...

GW took out from stores the blisters of necron spiders.

Maybe GW plans to give us a new shiny plastic spider which could be mounted also as this new kind of spider...

    That's my guess

Giant alien death-insect (I know spiders aren't insects...) buried underground following an ancient conflict?

If forgeworld was going to produce this, it would be quite some time down the road.

Re: Necron Crypt Stalker Superheavy/Titan Rumours

The reason why I don't believe this will happen is because it would salvage the nid's superheavies from a visual perspective. The whole floating pyramid thing was done to make nec vehicles different from other armies vehicles, and if they'd do a superheavy I would be surprised if they wouldn't do it "floating building" like. Or something completly unseen yet, but a technoid nid-ripoff would be just ... I don't know... cheap in my eyes.

I like that idea of a Necron Dreadnought/equivalent.

If this spider thing is intended to become reality, then maybe it won't be FW, but a GW plastic kit for Apocalypse?

You are now my best friend.

@Kriegsherr: I don't think it will be a 'nid ripoff, I was picturing more of a giant Tomb Spyder with cannons on him's belly. And big glowy gubbins. Lots of big glowy gubbins!

From the same paragraph as the description a banblade was lost, "due to the destructive might of the spider-shaped abomination." It's from the week 2 Necron report for Medusa V.

So it would probably be more powerful than a Baneblade.

Re: Necron Crypt Stalker Superheavy/Titan Rumours

Or it just shot the baneblade while it was shooting necrons. All that it we know from destroying a baneblade is that it hurt it, it could just as well have 24 gauss flayers all taped together.

I think it'd be quite cool to have a superheavy covered in smallarms, as opposed to just "Bigger vehicle = bigger gun"
