Behind Enemy Lines - Imperial Guard Spec-Ops RPG

    Evening

In response to popular request, the first RPG on WarSeer from the Antaeus foundries is an Imperial Guard one. A group of hand-picked specialists from a number of different regiments are to be dropped deep in enemy territory on the world of Praethyus, which has been invaded by the archenemy. You have been told that your mission is to reach an Imperial Temple situated deep in enemy-held territory, and cleanse this sacred site, recovering any artifacts that have not been defiled by the enemy. There is thick jungle terrain, so you may wish to consider this when equipping.

    Positions available:
    0-1 Techpriest Enginseer
    0-1 Commissar
    0-1 Sergeant
    Trooper
    Storm Trooper
    0-2 Sniper
    Medic
    Demolitions expert
    1+ Driver

    Armoury:
    -Autopistol
    -Autogun
    -Laspistol
    -Lasgun
    -Long rifle (Sniper only)
    -Hellpistol
    -Hellgun
    -Combat knife
    -Short sword
    -Bolt pistol (officers only)
    -Bolter (officers only)
    -Plasma pistol (officers only)
    -Chainsword (officers only)
    -Grenade launcher
    -Flamer
    -Frag grenades
    -Krak grenades
    -Demolition charges (Demolitions expert only)
    -Melta bombs (Demolitions expert only)
    -Auspex

Note: I've left equipment open, but remember that the Lasgun is the standard issue weapon of the Imperial Guard. In addition, though this will be text-based, ammunition constraints are in effect. No spare clips in your profile means no spare clips in the RPG. Good hunting.

Re: Behind Enemy Lines - Imperial Guard Spec-Ops RPG

    Name: Verus Nefero
    Regiment: Armageddon Steel Legion
    Rank: Sergeant
Equipment: Chainsword, Lasgun (3 spare ammo packs), Flak Armour, 2 Frag grenades, 1 Krak grenade, Mk VII Gas Mask (not on the armoury list, but it's standard for a Steel Legionaire)

Appearence: Is tall, and fairly well built. Has brown hair, and grey eyes, although you won't see his face behind his Mk VII regualtion Gas Mask..when he has it on that is. Has a long knee-length greatcoat.

Background: Trained mostly to fight in the Ash wastes of his home planet, Verus has undergone some traing in the equatorial jungles that lie between Armageddon Secondus and Prime. Is deserving of his rank, and is perhaps on his way up the ladder of command. He will always try to make sure his men survive. Is a good shot with his Lasgun, and is not bad with a chainsword.

    Is that o.k?

Looks great, people. Yin, you've just put yourself in charge, depending on what other characters come along. Good luck

Re: Behind Enemy Lines - Imperial Guard Spec-Ops RPG

    Name: Sophie

    Rank/Position: Storm Trooper

    Regiment: Takahashi Bloodhawks

Equipment: Twin Mars-Pattern Hellpistols (5 appropriate power packs), Katana (short sword), Carapace Armour, Frag Grenades, Krak Grenades, Auspex, associated Imperial Guard standard equipment (survival kit, emergency field rations etc.)

Appearance: Raven haired with green eyes and a suggestive smile, Sophie doesn't mind using her status as a woman to get her way. Clad in blood red Carapace Armour and famed for her unconventional armament of twin Hellpistols.

Background: Sophie was born on the Hive world of Takahashi Prime. Being born of relative nobility, she was inducted to the Takahashi Bloodhawks regiment, famed for their daring lightning raids and making extensive use of both Grav-chute drops and Valkyrie deployment. Sophie quickly rose to the rank of Sergeant and with that status adopted her twin-pistol style, preferring the increased finesse over a bulky Hellgun. In keeping with her homeworld's traditions, she also prefers the Katana as her close combat weapon of choice and carries hers around as sole link to her family. After a falling out of sorts, Sophie dropped her name and took on her current alias, severing all other ties with her family (aside from the aforementioned Katana she carries). Since then Sophie has concentrated solely on her duties to the Imperium, managing in doing so to have come to the attention of certain authorities on more than one occasion.

Re: Behind Enemy Lines - Imperial Guard Spec-Ops RPG

    Name: Altan Belisan
Rank: released trooper from the 22nd "Blax's Rats" Penal Legion
Description: Altan is a mountain of a man. 6'4", 250 lbs of rock hard prison toned muscle, few dare to look twice at Altan. He has dark, sun-tanned skin, is totally bald (shaved), and constantly wears dark form fitting goggles so that no one can see which way he's looking (think welding/swimming goggles almost). The goggles have built in light amplification systems, as well as flash supressors, so stun grenades and the like do not affect him. No one quite knows where he aquired such a choice piece of tech, but few have decided to ask. Altan has a tight, white sleeveless muscle shirt, dark fatigue pants, big ole boots, and a pouched bandoliere for his effects. He also has various ganger and prison tatoos up and down his arms, including a noteable rat skull and XXII indicating his involvement with Blax's Rats.

History: Altan was originally inducted into the Blax's Rats legion after fragging his CO. There really was no doubt who did it, Altan has a flair for explosives, and cogitators estimate that the Lieutennant's Chimera had been rigged with roughly 750 Imperial kilos of high grade plastique. All they found of the ill-fated man was his helmet, roughly a kilometer and a half away. Altan never admitted or denied his involvement.

Altan is your classic street thug. Razor smart in a fight, instinctive, brawny, he's the perfect hired muscle for whatever dirty deeds you need done. He is totally amoral. Need someone introduced to their own insides? He'll take care of it. Altan lives for intimidation and confrontation, although if and when he befriends someone there is not a better man you want guarding your back. He is a born leader, although if you can't match his pace don't bother trying to keep up.

Altan is, however, a compulsive thief and looter. He just can't help himself.

Wargear: 12" monomolecular combat knife, belt fed autogun, extra ammo, demo charges, grenades, anything he can loot.

Oh so many way for me to show you how your Savior has abandoned you
**** your Lord, your Christ, he did this, took all you had and left you this way

Re: Behind Enemy Lines - Imperial Guard Spec-Ops RPG

    Name: Trooper Jax 'Daredevil' Otega
    Rank: Driver/Trooper
    Regiment: 523rd Helikon Regiment 'Darksoldiers'

Regiment History: The 523rd was made up from over a thousand gangers that were rounded up and pressed into service for a Grand Crusade, unfortunately the Crusade met with a failure, leaving the regiment below numbers. Instead of being press into another Regiment, the Colonel of the Regiment requested that it be allowed to fight until it was dead, as was the tradiation of the gangs on Helikon Prime, the Main Hive on the Hiveworld. The request was granted and through thick and thin, the regiment became a crack unit of suirvors that recruits only when the numbers are below thirty-nine percent.

Appearance: Jax is a bear of man, standing at 6'1 and weighing in at 230 pounds, mostly muscle. He has brown eyes and short black hair, that matches his skin complexion of black in colour. He has a ganger tatoo of the Grim Reaper on his left arm that has underneath it: 'Death before Dishonour'

Background: Jax is one of the original Darksoldiers and is adept in steath and light armour as is the nature of his regiment. They use silent tactics to make surgical strikes and rely on light infratny skills to do this. Hailing from a position as a sludgetruck driver for his gang, Jax was recruited and given the role of driving a Chimera, for when speed was needed, but was also trained as a normal trooper for when he would have to ditch his CHimera and join the ground troops in an assault. Even though his big, he can still squeeze into a Chimera driver seat as he has learned how to shift his weight about. Although Chimeras are his specialty, he can aslo drive trucks, Salamanders, motorbikes and even a Rhino, but prefers the Chimera for its versitility and usually takes the mult-laser/heavy bolter combomination.

Weapons: Standard issue autogun (it makes more noise ), 10x ammo clips, usually on his chest, a stolen Officer's rapier (looted from a dead corpse), frag grenades and spanners and wrenches for when the Chimera needs some 'extra loving.'

Note: Antaues, can he have this special skill: 'Extra Loving'- Jax has been driving Chimeras for over thirty years and knows the ins and outs of them like an Eginseer, its just he does not know how to properly maintain them. Instead he nags them with his wrenches and spanners, and tweaks them there and there until they start moving again. Can attempt a field repair if need be, but usually requires a little luck and a quick prayer to the Machine Spirit.

And I will be driving a Chimera right?

    Takeshi Kodjiro

    Sniper and stealth expert

A young man, with flowing white hair and depthless grey eyes. Talks very little and is not very receptive to friendly chit chat. No one knows where he's from or what regiment he was in. He'll follow orders from his superiors with no questions asked, whatever it might be he's asked to do.
Lean of build, a deadly close combat expert, not through strength but martial skill. His specialty however is stealth and assassination, and excells in the dark of night.
He wears black and grey combat fatigues and standard flak armour, which are covered by a black cloak and hood.
    His equipment consists of:
Long las with regular and infrared scope, flash suppressor and silencer (can all be attached seperately). 3 10 shot hotshot clips, 5 standard 15 shot ammo clips. He carries the sniper rifle on his back.
2 autopistols, with attachable sound suppressors, 10 8 bullet clips. His twin pistols are carried in holsters under his arms.
2 short katana like blades at his sides which he usually draws with the tip of the blades pointing down.
5 frag and 3 krak grenades.

The concept behind the character is that he was one of the few survivors of an Aphrael strain regiment. After his regiment had been badly mauled in a Dark Eldar raid, the survivors had been taken prisoner by the foul xenos. Luckily the Dark Eldar ship in which he was carried was intercepted by the Ordo xenos before they could make their way into the webway.

I hope this character isn't too over the top and if you're okay with him being Aphrael Strain.

Re: Behind Enemy Lines - Imperial Guard Spec-Ops RPG

    I put 0-1 Sergeants for a reason..but never mind

@Yin: Actually, that still leaves you in charge. I always viewed Commissars as being ranked 'outside' the normal hierarchy - he's there to keep you in order, but you give the actual orders

    So, we have...
    • Sergeant Nefero (Yin Yang)
    • Sergeant Quinne (diddimz)
    • Commissar Vorn (warlord grubnatz)
    • Trooper 'Sophie' (Kittah) - I assume she has a second name?
    • Trooper Beslan (tyranid05)
    • Trooper Otega (Slazton)
    • Trooper Kodjiro (hoshi No Koe)

Excellence. Still slots open if people want to join in.

@Slaz: There will be a variety of vehicles available at various points.

Appearance and background are up. I may tweak them slightly, but that's the basics as you need to know.

As for the name, she just goes by Sophie for a reason - her character may open up over time depending on how close this mission brings the team

Re: Behind Enemy Lines - Imperial Guard Spec-Ops RPG

After some looking around, here be the Enginseer.

    Name: Edinte Resarc
    Regiment:Skitarii(sp?)
Position:Enginseer(You didn't expect that, did you?)
    Equipment:
    -Standard:Servo-arm, Power Weapon, Cyber-Enhancement, Chem-Inhaler.
-Extra:Flamer with 3 spare fuel cells, Auspex, Bionics,(If allowed:Combat Servitor to clear path through jungle.)

Appearance: He is mostly concealed by his Chem-Inhaler and Bionics. The Bionics cover his entire body, leaving only one 'real' eye visible to others. Thanks to all mechanical additions, he stands a healthy 6'3. Over that suit, he wears the standard red cloak with a hole in the back, making room for his Servo-Arm. The arm itself ends in a three-pronged claw, and for ease, the Flamer is attached to it too.

Background: Resarc has been raised in the art of machinery since early childhood by his father who was a technician. After he was drafted, it soon became clear he would be a worthy addition to the forces of the AM, and thus was 'transferred' to them. He has come to this jungle planet to bring whatever new technologies there back to please the Machine God.

I take it you mean Jax with that? I don't see how Altan has anything to do with the vehicles.

But thanks to you I read Altan's description a bit closer, and now I'm going to ask him where he got those goggles
