Chaos Militia from Forge World (no pics) and some Krieg sightings (few pics)

Blow this topic into oblivion if it has been posted before.

On the german games day, there were two models for "Chaos Militia" in the showcases. Nothing spectacular, they looked very much like Cadians without imperial insignia, except the heads. Those looked like covered by bags, with holes were two augmentic eyes were showing (I hope you get me, if not, tell me, I'm a little bit fighting with English).
I'm pretty sure those were not finished models, just scratch buildings, though the heads looked new.
According to Warwick Kinrade, the Chaos Forces which will be the antagonists of the siege-focused Imperial Armour 5, shall mainly consist of non-marine Chaos forces.
That doesn't mean the complete abscence of Chaos Marines, he had the imagination of some Alpha Legion Marines pushing the weakly humans around. This was only a vague idea from him, it was not definite.

On photos I saw some new Krieg stuff. Don't know if that was already sighted, but the infantry heavy weapons will be positioned on small carts with steel wheels, which makes them look old school.
Also, on a photo I saw a raw model of a new APC. it looked like those boats from "Saving Private Ryan" in the beach-scene, just with tracks to drive on.
So, maybe an open-topped though heavenly armoured troop transport.
A guy beside me asked him of its capacity. It was loud around there, therefore I'm not sure if he understood the question, but he answered '50'.
I didn't have the impression of it having so much space, but I guess it could be possible if the soldiers would be squeezing. A bombard cannon stood beside it, and it was smaller (I have no idea how big a bombard actually is, but some of you might get a better idea).

The Manta is finished, he'll come around Septembre, October. I asked for the cost, and he said about 1000. Later I realised that I have no idea if he thought I asked about money or points ...

    Cheers

My guess is on money for the Manta...

To further mention on the big apc, they called it a Gorgon with a capacity of 50 men, it's a superheavy for the IG.

Also, the traitor guard will have aces to all IG weapons though imperial items are repaced with chaos items.
The full rules for an entire traitor IG regiment will be in IA5

The Manta is about 1900 pts, it already has stats, so he understood you were asking about the cost.

regarding the manta, 1000 what?! euros or pounds? I would think euros, as the question was asked at the german games day, also this would convert in about 650-690 british pounds, which is the price-class of the biggest forgeworld pieces.

At a FW price of at least £50.

Again excellent lists are placed out of the reach of the average gamer.

    Good work GW.

A Gorgon! Now there's something to look forward to, I used to have a few of them for Epic.

You're winning. Sounds really rather cool.

The price is going to be around the £1000 mark I believe.

    Good work GW.
The price is a drawback but it's really only the Forgeworld stuff which really keeps my interest in 40k up. I found the price tag hideous as well but once I'd actually read the first book I found it money well spent and have bought the rest as they've come out.

The only picture I could find of an epic Gorgon was a conversion someone made because they didn't like the model - anyone got a photo, just so we get a rough idea of what it might look like?

I had some problems with my last order to FW and while it was being straightened out, I had the opportunity to talk a little bit with the Customer Service Rep about the Krieg figures. He obviously couldn't give anything away in black & white but he said that around September they should start showing up and that this would be a series of releases throughout Autumn as this is going to be a whole line of figures not just a small selection.
Yes, there are female marines and my Sunhawks will explain it to you.

Down the bottom of this page. It's a little like a WWII landing craft with a big bombard on it.

Now I remember, yes, it was called a Gorgon.
It had a small driver cabin, and beside it a small machine gun stand. The rest has been basically a big rectangular bowl of steel on tracks. With a big front door. I don't think I have seen any other weapons, then again, I haven't looked closely.

The Gorgon Mark 1 (see link the post before this one, thx t-tauri) comes close, only a little more open topped.

Wow, a whole thread where Death Korps of Krieg is spelled correctly (not even the rumour roundup has succeeded in that!). I am impressed

IIRC the Manta should cost around 1000 Euro, not pound. And we can hope for a book around 32 pound, not 56. But that depends on the quantity of material that goes into it. I am also thinking about getting the book, although I am not interested in Imperium or Chaos, just because FW books are so cool and imaginative.Good news that the Death Korps will be released September onward.

    There you go.
Couldn't get any decent photos there due to a crowd of people constantly pushing and bad light conditions.
IIRC it was a whole squad along with a seargent armed with what looked like a cavalry sabre.

The militia models were unimpressive - as it was impossible to get a closer so they may turn out nice in the end
